Dayne's is moving into 2000 W. Berry, the former Americado/Ice House space.

It's interesting the site name of the TAD record shows that as their original location too:

Their next stop is at 9840 Camp Bowie West Blvd. That would put them in Westland, instead of West Berry. They will not be moving with Lola's.

Lola's is a great addition to the neighborhood, even without Daynes. I am sorry to read they're going out to Westland but am interested to see what Phillip Murrin has planned there. He'll probably do something cool.
With Biship Cidercade, Splinters Axes & Ales, Lola's, and Smokestack in the little University Heights/aka Paschal area (in which the District 90 project sits), these businesses will collectively offer peoplle some places to discover, socialize and enjoy themselves. This compact zone where the TCU area transitions to the Near Southside has come a long way in the last few years. Glad to say it should finally feel alive with people soon, fulfilling at least one part of the Berry Street redevelopment master plan.

From the FW magazine article:
"According to a press release announcing the move on Monday, the Weavers considered a temporary move to West Berry with Lola’s, but the timing for a permanent move aligned. The Weavers have been working with Murrin for the past eight months on plans for a location in Westland."

And they're setting up the BBQ trailer at 9808 Camp Bowie West until the permanent project is done.

That doesn't seem like an optimal location but maybe they are going with the approach of "if we barbecue it, they will come"
My theory is that just like with housing, everything within the loop is so danged expensive. They're an established brand, more or less, and they do have a following, so they're banking on taking that following with them to affordable digs.
I really think JD's Burgers is on to something with their heavy Westland branding. I bet Dayne's jumps on that bandwagon too. I got here in the 1980s and Hwy 80 was already going to seed but I could see the mid-century ethos of that strip. Maybe they can revive that simpler time in Westland.

There are a lot of homes within 20 minutes of Westland. If the 'cue is good enough, I think people will make that drive. It would be interesting if several of those businesses take off - and maybe throw in some other draws on the weekend like some live shows or other activities - it could become a nice little scene.

I was thinking earlier that Westland seems out of the way and I probably will never make it that far out. Wouldnt you know it, Im like less than a mile from there right now, I just happened to be in the area.
Yeah, that's what Race Street used to be for me. Seemed so far away... it's really just the other side of downtown for me.

So Lola's is already open at 2000 Berry Street.
I was wondering what that was... A LOT of people over there in this heat.

They've started a Saturday market over there, supposedly 30 vendors.
I was up there last night with the Night Riders. The couple dozen of us overwhelmed the rest of the clientele at that point of the evening.
They said they would have a taco truck up there (same one that was at the old location I think) plus they will be opening up the kitchen inside the building soon.

I always found those hotels from the 60s where all the rooms overlook the pool to be kind of invasive especially with everyone carrying a video camera around in their pocket. Not to mention the noise is kind of obtrusive too.The property behind Lola's is for sale: https://www.loopnet....th-TX/27590897/
