I've noticed that work on the site has been picking up over the last couple of weeks.

If you have been driving by lately, I'm sure you have noticed that the east end brick wall of the former shed has been stabilized and braced.  On driving by today, I noticed that the remainder of the burned out shed structure has been demolished, leaving only the decorative brick wall standing.  Also, the area of the former W. El Paso St. has been dug up and removed.

I noticed the wall bracing last week.  There's been a lot of work on the west end of the site over the last couple of weeks.

Several columns in place now. The Vickery development visible in the midground.

Viewed from overhead, it appears a lot more space for building than I thought previously.  And, what I didn't notice before is the curving road on the north side of the tract for easier access.

At one time, there was another building to the west of the Public Market on the same block.  Quite some time back, I found out that it was under the same ownership and I thought I had stated here on the forum that there was quite a bit of space to build something to the west of the building.

The curving road is a result of the freeway expansion service road.  The former city street right-of-way is directly in front of the Public Market and also runs beside the old Dr Pepper plant.

With this thing and the new apartments off Vickery, there's going to be a lot coming right up to the highway right there.

Are you suggesting the potential for traffic congestion at this location?

Every time I pass this project on the way to my office in southwest downtown I am heartened by the fact that this formerly dismal-looking location is going to change its appearance for the better.

The developer's social media team post multiple times per week on Instagram. You can find them at "thepublicmarketfw". The level of care and thought they are putting into the project are clear.
