"The Ballpark in Arlington" kept its name complete because the word "ballpark" is generic enough to require "Arlington" in the title. But since there is only one "Ameriquest Field" the use of "Arlington" in the title is redundant and superfluous.
It's as bad as using "redundant" and "superfluous" together to describe something.

They should have worded that properly. "Ameriquest Field" didn't open in 1994; The Ballpark in Arlington opened in 1994. What is this, 1984, where if something seems inconsistent, they just revise the past?

YES! Integrity would be completely out of place in this entire matter!
For example, deeper into the website one can read (I added some bold for emphasis):
Brief History
The agreement between the Rangers and the City of Arlington, Texas to build a new ballpark was announced on October 24, 1990. Actual construction began on April 24, 1992. The ballpark was named on September 28, 1993. The first game was an exhibition contest between the Rangers and New York Mets on April 1, 1994...

They probably did some sort of search-and-replace, changing every single instance even if it is not historically accurate.

I agree. Such things are a win-win situation for everyone involved. The stadium is able to generate additional revenue and the sponsor gets name recognition and presumably positive PR. As for it being commercialism - well, I am perfectly fine with that. Commerce is a wonderful and benevolent thing. Look at the parts of the world that are not very commercialized and ask yourself if you would like to thusly lower your standard of living and live under such conditions.I don't really care about corporate sponsors on sports facilities, it's just like commercials, ads on buses, billboards; it's all just advertisement.
But I don't like the name, it just doesn't flow. It would sound better if it was just "Ameriquest Field" or if they left it the way it is
Since that stadium was paid for by Arlington taxpayers, it wouldn't surprise me if there is some sort of contractual agreement that the word "Arlington" must appear in any name. One certainly can't blame the City of Arlington if it attached such strings to the deal.
The only thing that I don't like about naming rights is the fact that, at some point, the contract expires making a name change likely every so many years. When memorable events take place at such facilities, people associate the location with the name - and it is always kind of sad when a name that has almost become an institution is suddenly done away with.

Changing the name to Ameriquest Field in Arlington is still a winning proposition for Arlington.
Too bad we couldn't name our speedway "Fort Worth Motorspeedway." I want a tax refund.
