That's true, he is a petite man, however he is 87 years old so that plays a factor too. (Probably eats like a bird.) I ran into him a few years ago at a fundraiser he seemed to be in good spirits. A friend of mine is buddies with Mr. Davis and has visited him at his home since Karen's sudden passing. From what I gathered, I think they were at Cheesecake Factory downtown and she had a sudden medical episode, not sure the rest of the details.

It now appears that Komatsu's office can witness the demolition of one of their signature houses, if their office is high enough and on the appropriate side of the building. Bud Kennedy at the Fort Wort Star-Telegram is reporting that demolition permits have been filed, but the house won't be demolished until a redevelopment plan is formulated. The house turns 50 this years, so it could qualify for historic designation. The link is below for those who have access:

Austin had given us the heads up about this last fall on the forum. Komatsu's office has been over on Hulen for quite some time. They were there before we left Vickery Blvd. for Camp Bowie in 2011, so they have been at that location longer than 10 years. Google Street View jumps from 2008 until 2013 on the street. They were not in that location in 2008.

I had just posted this in another thread. I think the two should be merged.
It has now been done.

(John, please delete this if inappropriate.) Some of you may have already found this video and I was debating for a while if it is OK to post this on the forum. These guys snuck into the mansion and went "exploring" back in 1991. I don't think they were actually ghost hunting but it offers a rare and unique unfiltered view inside the mansion. It's shot in 1991 so some time had already passed between the murders and when they shot this choppy / creepy video. I don't think they intended to cause damage or theft mostly snooping around.
(WARNING ** VIDEO CONTAINS SOME PROFANITY **)
A little late to the party, but here's the razing permit on Accela:

I find it amusing this reviewer / inspector for the city picks up on the 2,000 SQFT listed on the application when in fact it is closer to 10,000 SQFT. However, a bit more concerning is her being oblivious or acting oblivious to the known history of this structure referring to a previous occupancy as a church only and not a single family residence.

i recall driving along Southwest Blvd in my VW and listening to the breaking news on the AM Radio of gunfire at the CD Mansion. It was sensational, sordid and terrifying packaged into the days surrounding the killings.

Eh. It's okay if they do. You of all people should know that vigorous discussion of opinions is what drives forum traffic.

Here's my favorite part:
Reporter, William Joy, asks, "What's it like looking at it now?" Mr. Davis thinks about it for a second and says, "Well...it uhh, looks like hell (then chuckles to himself)." The young reporter nervously snickers and proceeds to say nothing trying to find a way out of that question as quickly as possible.

Zoning Comission approved a change to allow townhomes on the site. The change is actually a downzone from what was previously allowed. No renderings were shown. 30 homes by Village Homes.
