Can I ask for receommendations here for specialists in pier and beam foundation repair?
Just completed a re-plumbing job, now its time to consider the foundation.
This is the year of spending money on big house projects.

Thanks

Going through the same issue on a 1924 Bungalow in the Cultural District we are remodeling and addind a second floor to. Consulted w/ Frank Neal Structural Engineer. Gave repair plan and recomendation for subcontractors to select from to execute. Worth the cost of Engineer if foundations shows sign of distress.

I didn't follow through with any foundation work, but now we're about to do some bath remodel and I want to get the foundation fixed before we do new work.

What contractor did you end up using, and how was their work?

Thanks for any recommendations.

Try these people. The owner is a friend of mine

They do really good work at very reasonable prices.

Thanks, i may give them a call for a third opinion.

Actually, the second company (BBB endorsed, 50 years in business) looked at my foundation and told me the smartest thing to do was to just put gutters on the house and pile some more fill dirt up to the foundation to improve drainage and firm-up the existing foundation since I don't have any bad issues inside (doors, etc.). He said that the old foundations in my area are soft (or brittle, I forget) concrete with a skim coat on the outside that is probably hiding more cracks. He said that if they try to put new piers under the perimeter foundation that it would probably just crack somewhere else in between the new piers. So he was willing to just walk away without telling me I need to have work done. He didn;t think that I wanted to spend $20K on a whole new foundation. He was right.

What do y'all think of that?
