Looks like they might be tearing down the old St. Joseph's Heliport or building around it. How cool would that be to have a condo directly serviced by a heliport? With Bell Helicopter self-flying air taxi, they may want to keep this around and could be used for APT medical missions or Amazon drops.

A few more dets. Meant to be an affordable project for folks that need easy access to JPS.

NRP Housing (NRP portfolio) is preparing a 67-69 unit property at 1308 Crawford, on the JPS campus. This is among the project that went before the city earlier this year. No other details that I could find at this time.

Site plan from upcoming UDC meeting.

Thanks for finding and adding the original post. I will update the address in the title block if we are sure its going to be assigned to Crawford?

I think the forum may have lost part of its search index at some point during the upgrade. On one of my Wordpress sites I ended having to add an AI search engine called Algolia to enhance the search capabilities, unfortunately it is not shareware.

I guess the Tarrant County Hospital District owns the land for private development of a multi-family residential project?  Seem an odd role for a semi-governmental agency.

You raise a good point.  JPS Health Network / Tarrant County Hospital District is a Tax Unit which (as you know) means if you live it Tarrant County and own property, you are paying taxes for this entity.  I recall Austin55 mentioning that this development was supposed to be affordable housing for those needing access to the JPS Hospital System.  Not sure exactly what that means but perhaps there was further discussion of this at at the UDC meeting?  I'd be curious to know.

Here's the link to the UDC meeting from Dec 2021.  This case starts around marker 00:41:45.  I won't have time right now to watch it but here's the link if anyone else is interested:

Per the UDC meeting, the developer's intent is to remove the helipad and leave the parking garage to the south (JPS Lot Q).  It's hard to believe that stretch of Morphy St. is already abandoned / private property / not right-of-way?  The intent is to abandon Crawford St. as a road and use only as a driveway for the development.

It will be a long term lease of the hospital's land.  Affordable housing project.

I forgot about this project too.  What's the status?

Magnolia Loft details from the Southside Scoop newsletter

MAGNOLIA LOFTS

Providing housing options for all is a primary Near Southside goal, and we’re excited about the steady flow of projects delivering units affordable to those working in the district’s healthcare, service, and creative sectors. This month we highlight one of these projects directly aligned with one of our employment anchors. The Magnolia Lofts project (working name subject to change) is located on Magnolia Ave. one block east of S. Main Street, and is a partnership between The NRP Group and JPS Medical Center, delivering:

67 total residential units
60 units will be for those earning up to 60% of the area median income
7 units will be market rate or without income restrictions

Community amenities including a children’s playscape, business center, fitness room, children’s activity room, and community lounge/kitchen

Units equipped with energy-star appliances, granite countertops, modern cabinetry and flooring, spacious balconies, and storage

Approximately 2,000 sf of commercial/retail space leased to JPS for internal or external use

Construction is expected to kick off 2nd half of 2022.

Great find.  Never knew about that newsletter either.  The only bummer about that project is the RR tracks which seems to be a common theme for many of these multifamily projects.

Like with other projects in the works, I'll be curious what "affordable" actual means in terms of $'s per month or if it is an income-based rental program?
