Wow that's big! West 7th 2.0, coming right up.

I think it's more like W7th Extension.  It almost, but not quite, abuts the W7th area (a bit of Linwood in between I guess).  When the car dealers are gone I think it will eventually become one "super district" with a section of White Settlement Road in between that could potentially morph into a Magnolia/Race Street strip.  It will be interesting to see if anyone suggests a road diet for White Settlement to foster that kind of renewal/development.

I'd love to see a Road Diet BUT after the White Settlement bridge turned a 2yr project into a 6yr project I would imagine HUGE fear and opposition to any road disruptions for adjoining business etc etc

The zoning chang for the Larkspur project passed unanimously. Not much discussion or anything new was said. Construction starting Q1 next year.

I think University from Camp Bowie to White Settlement Rd needs a road diet as well.   Maybe they will do that after they raise N University.

That's another full block of possible development. This area might looks insanely different in even just 3 years or so.

I think that there are alternates in that area, but it would be good to have a connection with the Trinity Trail to the side streets.

University already was reduced from 6 to 4 lanes in that stretch, right? I do not believe that it should be reduced to 1 lane in each direction, it carries too much traffic for that.

It can easily done however, it may not more aesthetic changes as opposed to a a road diet.  I am thinking more like medians with trees and landscaping, turn lanes and better pedestrian crossings.  A bike lane would be nice but like Doohickie mentioned there are alternatives to using University.

I agree, that would make the street look nicer.

I'm kind of glad this building is being demolished.  The FWISD has remodeled it so many times, that it was a maze of offices.  Of course, this also means that some of my interior projects have now bitten the dust.

Lots of big decisions at last night's City Council meeting! Trajectory changers for Stockyards and West 7th areas (and Gateway Park, too)

Here's a (relatively minor sized) new zoning change request related to the massive Larkspur development.  Showing signs of progress though with more filings like this:

Record ZC-25-014:
Zoning Change
Record Status: Applied

Project Description:
FW Westside
MU-2 Mixed Use
MU-2 High Intensity Mixed Use development

Owner:
FW Westside RE Investors, LLC

Work Location

GENERAL INFORMATION

Acres:0.3894

Present Use: Auxilary storage facility

Proposed Use: Residential and commercial mixed use

Is this now completely gone?  Seem to recall this was museum storage at one point.
