That's very sad news.  The downtown store is a very cool building, especially inside.  I hope the building has a great reuse future.

I was very sad to see the historic old 1890's sanctuary of First Baptist Church Dallas burning last night.  My Fort Worth family has lots of ties to the church as do many D/FW families and institutions.  I attended services there many times in my lifetime.  The old sanctuary was really beautiful - both inside and out.  I think it's kinda funny that the press described it as a chapel.  It seated thousands.  Two of the greatest preachers of the twentieth century were pastors there - George W. Truett and W.A. Criswell.  Lots of history happened in that building.  I feel bad for the church's members, they must be reeling.  DFW lost a significant piece of its architectural and spiritual heritage last night.
