The eastern side of the metro area created 17,400 jobs last month, accounting for half the new jobs statewide. That’s more than double its usual share and easily led Texas metros.

Lots of good information in this article.  If some see it as a slight to Fort Worth, I can't help that as that's my intention.  This article just really highlights what I've said many times...things are very different to the east. And "different" doesn't mean better, but it is surprising how different these numbers are.

A graph in the article shows that the same time period the eastern metro created 17,400 jobs, Fort Worth/Arlington created 2,000.

Fort Worth is mentioned some:

"In May, the annualized rate of job growth across all industries topped 8% for Dallas-Plano-Irving, Orrenius said. For Fort Worth-Arlington, the annualized pace was 2.3%, she said.

“Remember that Fort Worth is more of a goods-producing sector, and Dallas is more of a services sector,” Orrenius said.

When the pandemic arrived, manufacturing and production held up better initially. Services have rebounded and are growing faster now."
