Most of you will not be able to read this because it is behind the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's paywall.  If you can, Carol Roark has an interesting article about the former Chevrolet Plant located on West Seventh Street.  The Flood of 1922 and low production from the plant led to its demise.  After it was closed, Montgomery Ward used it as a temporary store and warehouse while the current building was being built.  The building also housed Radio Shack for a time.  It was eventually demolished in 1986.

Interesting article.  I had no idea.  Looks like it sat on the site of the 7th Street Station apartments.

JBB, you are correct on the location.  I remember the old building and plant and I could have added in that the 7th Street Station apartments were built on the site.

Those were a lot of changes, but I trust Carol Roark's research.  She has written several books on Fort Worth History and she is a noted historian.
