Moving to FW soon. Since I Will be working off Belknap and Henderson, I thought it would be a good idea to rent a downtown apartment so that I can WALK to work! Any suggestions for some quality apartment in that neighborhood? How about the two Amli properties, how about AMLI 7th Street Station on 2601 W. Seventh Street, Ft. Worth and the other is AMLI Upper West Side on 1000 Henderson street?

Any comment will be appreciated.

You have several rental options:

- rent a condo in the Tower (pick up a FW Weekly for ads in the RE section)
- the new Depot apartments - you'll probably want to ride a bike as you'll have to go under the bridge - would be faster.
- Sundance West
- Sanger Lofts (SW and this one are pretty pricy but are very nice buildings - IMO Sanger is much cooler and more bang for your buck)
- Firestone
- AMLI UWS
- Electric building (more modestly priced, not as quiet or as "nice"

You should take a tour of each of the places to see for yourself, but don't forget to check out the condos which are available for rent - might be of higher quality than some of the apartments and you'll be able to get a place up high with killer views.

Workin for the SHACK? Well, I knew plenty of RS employees who lived at Firestone Apts. Quality is really suspect in about 70% of the units. This is based on the knowingly "complaint" factor, by MAINTENANCE folks. But since you work in DTFW, they usually cut you a little % DEAL. Look into it.

If you decide you're going to have to get in the car and drive anyway, Alta Ridglea Village is only seven minutes west (out Camp Bowie), and is quite a bit less expensive than downtown. Also, there are lots of good restraunts within walking distance and convenient shopping nearby.

I've heard from former residents that the Firestone are kind of bad. You can hear your neighbors, poor service, etc.....

I understand they have been aggressively hiring at MBA programs across the country. This is a departure from their past strategy of promoting from within (i.e. retail store managers).

Hi guys, any Equity Residential residents out there? The reason is that I am currently renting with them. If I transfer with them, i don't break the lease or pay months of rents (they don't use Texas Apt Assn lease and you have to pay for whatever number of months remaining in the lease). And I dont' want to commute from Irivng to FW. Thanks!
