In all honesty, I feel like the West 7th area (and downtown Grapevine as well) is a weird location for a food court food hall, especially when the area is already saturated with restaurants......IMO, food halls should be in dense employment or shopping areas where you can easily attract many people on foot.

Downtown Fort Worth would be a better location for a food hall than the West 7th area.

I actually mentioned to a friend of mine that I thought the parking garage that is located where the Landmark Tower stood would have been a great space for this type of concept.

I have believed that First Street, between Main and Houston Streets and with its existing infrastructure,  would be a great space for a food hall/street food trucks concept.

It is a shame that an entire block was sacrificed for the Worthington Hotel without contemplating the desert that it has created.  With a bit redesign, the 100 West First Block could be reinvigorated.

...... Downtown is walkable but has a lot of cars to contend with sort of keeping your guard up feeling the whole time...... Downtown has Main st arts festival but could you imagine if that happened on maybe a slightly smaller scale but several times per year? Maybe theres some activities Im forgetting but Im just trying to think outside the box as far as what Ive seen work well. You gotta give people a good reason to get out and visit.

I think it would be wonderful if Main between the Courthouse and the CC was road-dieted; and the sidewalks extended to allow fresco dining and kiosk shops.  I do believe that the cross streets can provide the necessary access to businesses with store fronts along Main Street.

That sounds like an excellent idea.  I love your term "road-dieted"....that's a new one for me.  I love the feeling during Main St. Arts walking through the crowds and not worrying about car traffic, not to mention all the food and things to look at.  When you factor in kiosk-style food, live music, vendors, it could even have a farmers market element during the morning and transition to more of a night life feel in the evenings.  I think the benefit of downtown vs stockyards is that the stockyards has somewhat limited access (a couple ways in and out) as where downtown has many ways in and out and a lot more parking options.

"road-dieted" is just my liberal phraseology on social media. I imagine there is a more precise phrase that didn't come to mind immediately.

Here's a good thread on the road diet on Forest Park Blvd., which has now been successfully implemented. http://www.fortworth...pic=4741&page=1

Would Abrams St. from UTA to the sub-courthouse in Arlington be a good example of road-diet?  It's actually quite nice if you have a chance to drive / or walk through.  The Levitt Pavilion is such an awesome installation for the city.  Some things are done right and that's up there on my list of favorites.  That would be one of those "if I won the lottery I would build this in my backyard..." wish lists items.
