1. There's a For Lease sign in front of the Denny's at Hulen and 20. The restaurant appears to still be open, so I'm not sure if maybe the sign refers to another space in the shopping center behind it.
2. The lot at roughly 5011 S. Hulen has been cleared. That's next to Mexican Inn and across from Barnes and Noble. It was previously two strip centers: https://goo.gl/maps/GbivYdQUaQ62 Anyone know what's taking their place?

The Denny's is still open, so it is for something else in the shopping center.
But I'm still wondering what that other building is going to be. There's no sign or anything.

The old Casual Male store has closed, so that For Lease sign is probably for that space.

The structure that is coming out of the ground looks like it is for another restaurant.

Cotton Patch had to be the most vanilla, non-descript comfort food restaurant ever. There was absolutely nothing on their menu that stuck out.
I've never been more dissatisfied with a meal than my one visit to Cotton Patch.

I was wondering why the sign was off...

Old post I know, but I've been more dissatisfied with meals at other places. But I was really dissatisfied with the Cotton Patch meal *even though* it was cooked to perfection. Their best still really sucked.

Too much competition from Torchy's?

Two Pesos and Taco Cabana are different restaurants. I actually learned about the lawsuit that Taco Cabana won against Two Pesos for violation of "trade dress" back in my business law class in college. Apparently Two Pesos restaurants were designed too similarly to Taco Cabana, and they were forced to shut down. I don't remember them, I guess they were before my time.

Unfortunately, the food at Taco Cabana has gone down hill over the last few years. It used to be one of my favorite places to get good and quick tacos and similar items. The last couple of times I have stopped in, I have been disappointed. I have been hearing that they have been sporadically closing restaurants in the area.

A Pennsylvania-based Cajun Cuisine Company is seeing its franchisees make their Texas debut in Wichita Falls and Fort Worth.
This is an interesting sign of the times.

Two new seafood places for the Southwest side. Near Bryant Irvin and I-20, Crab du Jour is moving in where The Keg used to be.

Why do you say that?
1. Two seafood places near each other that serve basically the same food is one reason
2. FW barely supports the seafood places we have now outside the high end ones, and that is waning as well (I can almost every night, including during the stock show run, get a table with ease at Waters, Pacific Table, Eddie V's during the 7-8 pm hours when restaurants make their $)
3. The novelty of the new will wear off in a few months and the death spiral will start
4. The locations are not ideal. The one near Lowe's will basically be hidden and the one at the Kroger will be lost in all the empty spaces that occupy the shopping center
5. Most restaurants fail in the first year
6. Gut instinct as a person who eats out for dinner 3 times a week and everyday for lunch

The quick sak location in question is about 2 miles north on hulen from the 3400 st hulen address listed in the QT discussion.
I've watching over the last 2-3 weeks that Quick Sak be emptied and have also been curious.
The Quick Sak was the NW corner of Hulen and Diaz. The SW corner of this intersection was also recently bulldozed...

If I have an issue with the car, I can leave it there and just walk home.

The set price also includes all-you-can-eat slices of dessert pizzas. So basically its an elevated version of Cici's. Count me in!FWTX writes about Delucca, which is moving into the old Bravo/Covey location on Hulen. Think Brazilian Steakhouse, But With Pizza
Would be funny if the headline read, Think Panchos but with Amazing Food.

My wife has been to the one in Southlake a few times and really likes it. My daughter is a big fan too. Their prices are really reasonable.
