Online voters picked the City's Official Bird.  The Fort Worth Report has the story:

What does the forum think?

This feels... random.

I didn't know cities had official city birds.

I think some do and some don't.  This isn't a bad choice.  I'm seeing more and more bluebirds when I'm out on the trails or in some of the larger parks.

I loved the campaign videos done by FWISD Elementary students.

I am so down with this.  I love that it has a slight purple tint to it's color which ties it in with TCU the use of purple on the 7th St Bridge and City Hall

I've never seen one of those.

I have seen many of them on the Trinity Trails.  If you don't look closely, you might just think they are another small bird.  Back when I was doing some photography for my office, I was sent out to our Game On location near I-820 and I-30.  A pair of bluebirds had a nest in one of the newly planted trees, and I stood under that tree to take a photograph. I was dive bombed by the nesting couple.  They were very aggressive for a small bird.
