Nice shots John! I was curious what the inside of Hotel Revel looked like and found some photos posted on Google:

Nitixope, I have seen the interior photos of the Hotel Revel, and I agree that it is a super cool addition to the Near Southside. I hope to see more buildings like this being built.
I knew that the Aloft had a swimming pool. I think Austin has been inside the pool area.

Austin, you are correct. I think it is in the part where the subway could have been extended. It's more toward the library and City Place One.

That's another nice one, Austin.

For all the shade thrown at Burnet Plaza, I believe it does have two intriguing profiles. I further believe that BP has aged well - setbacks are now coming into vogue.

Nice shot, Austin!

It is a nice shot; but what DTFW lacks in somethings it makes up in beauty.

Austin inspired me to go out and take some skyline shots this afternoon. I really should have had my larger lens with me, but what I had did work.
This is my favorite photo. It is the skyline from the Trinity Trails, just south of Northside Drive. There is a trail head just a few yards from where I took the photograph.

On this one, I was shooting around a posted "No Trespassing" property. I was on the city street, but I did not tarry very long.

This one is from the intersection of NE 29th and Schwartz Ave.

Finally, the view from the hilltop on Lawther Drive in River Oaks. The building thunderstorm in the far background that's cropped off was west of Gun Barrel City. It built up rapidly and before I left the site, it fizzled out.

I hope you enjoyed some of my skyline photos. I wanted to hit more locations, but I got a little hot, tired, and hungry.

Burnett Plaza looks like a completely different building from its side profile.

After the rains, Sunday was a great afternoon to take photographs.

I went out to Lawther Drive to shoot the skyline and Panther Island fireworks tonight.
Nice! Must have been a long exposure? Tripod or no tripod? I need to go check out this Lawther Dr spot.

Last night, I was in the Water Gardens at dusk and I captured this photo:

I posted the Water Gardens photograph above on all of my social media accounts and I have received more responses and comments than I have on any other posts. The interesting thing was that I decided at the last minute to walk through there and most of the lights on the fountains were turned off. When I saw the active pool had people walking down, and the lights were on here, I decided to grab a few shots with my cell phone. It was the only camera I had with me at the time.

It is amazing how much that area has changed.
Based on the shadows I'm guessing it is an early afternoon picture, and here in the terrible heat of the summer, but it is interesting how few humans I can spot, and few cars rolling on the side streets. It makes me think about what density brings and doesn't bring for vibrancy of an area -- of course I know this same area is mobbed at night and that far more than makes up for daytime use.

Last week, I was also on Houston Street and I took a photo of the Omni Fort Worth Hotel entrance, lobby, and ballroom area. All of the lights were on, as it was getting dark. This was just a snapshot. I wished that I had stood in the center of the column bay so everything would have been equal.

Austin55, I agree. I took quite a few evening pictures after my tour last week. I wish that I had stayed around longer, but I was getting tired, and I had not eaten dinner. It was after 9 PM when I arrived home. I still had to go to work the next day.

In the same area, I took this photo of the skyline. It was taken on Cherry Street looking toward Burnett Park.

It's part of the rooftop garden for the penthouse, which takes up the old Cotton Exchange Trading Room. The penthouse occupies the entire 11th floor of the building, which is set back from the two main facades. That trading room had 7 clerestory skylights that faced true north. The rooftop garden occupies the remainder of the floor plate outside the penthouse. The round red thing represents the water tower that used to be on top of the building. Here's a 1926 photo from the UTA Digital Galleries Website. Note all 5 of the background commercial buildings are all still standing.

The Neil P. looks dark in the 1926 photo due to the angle of the sun. Downtown is on a 30 degree shift to the west from true north. The Neil P. sits at one of the locations where the grid shifts from that 30 degree tilt to the cardinal orientation. The north side of the Neil P. faces closer to northwest that true north. The west side faces true west. Therefore, the curved corner is not 90 degrees.

Thanks. Austin, I like the lighting on the bridges.

I'm adding two more photos to the collection. These are two shots of the First Christian Church. The first is from the intersection of 6th and Throckmorton.

The second is an elevation view of the east facade.

I should have taken a straight on view of the south portico with the purple lights.
