All of the photos are nice.

The new townhomes behind the hotel are built on top of its underground parking garage? If so I wonder how they'll be deeded.

They will more than likely be rentals.

Checked the interactive map on TAD.org and saw that the hotel and townhomes are still all on one big parcel; not sure how up-to-date the map is though:
Would a condominium declaration show up on this TAD.org map? I guess that would be one way to sell these townhomes without deeding separate parcels?

Not sure if this answers your question?
Yep, that settles it unless we learn differently -- rental townhomes!

Amazing project, perfect fit for that location.

Checked 3 weekends each month in December, January, and February at the Bowie and the Drover and the Bowie came out cheaper in all but January.

Looks super nice! (But in the second pic, what is that scary image in the picture frame? )
I tried to perspective correct and mess with the levels and it remains really ambiguous. Here is my outside of the box guess: some kind of animal draped over the arm of an old couch. (now I have broken everyone by not being able to un-see that).

Crescent and Bowie House are really going to eat into the Drover's business in Dec-Feb when all the FWSSR/horse stuff is going on at Will Rogers/Dickie's. It's going to take a while before everyone figures out they're open, but it didn't make logical sense that the Drover could get $600+ per night...it's not THAT nice.

I don't know. I'm thinking there's more than enough business to keep all 3 full. This feels like a grossly underserved market or that's at least what the pricing tells me.
(I purposely avoided the Stock Show weekends when I was looking at it. The Drover was quite a bit more expensive in December and I imagine they do good holiday party business.)

Its a horse stretching his head done towards his front legs. (Youre seeing the bend in his neck.) All the art was provided by a local Fort Worth photographer that specializes in equine portraits.
Thanks! I can see that now that you've explained. Prior, my eyes were seeing something really crazy.

Bowie House does not open for a few more weeks, but looks just about ready to go.
I'm going to be curious how the hotels "come alive" as guests end up staying. One thing you can VERY EASILY notice when driving along Camp Bowie for Bowie House is how many bathtubs very clearly abut the windows....

Yeh that is interesting! I was going to shoot that angle (the glassy northwest end), but there appeared to be some sort of event going on and a police car was under the porte-cochère with it's lights on so the shot was kinda hard. I wanted to get that at night before the hotel opens since after it opens I assume those curtains will normally be closed, or my photos of them might not be suitable for this website
I haven’t noticed the bathtubs, but those huge windows are gorgeous.
Looking forward to a staycation at the pool and spa this summer.
I've seen a few pics of the back area, it looks lovely! That is definitely one big leg up on the Crescent that this one has.
Is that a long exposure shot with headlights zooming through or is that some sort of linear LED fixture in the lower foreground?
Just a long exposure with a passing car.

Hey Austin: great pics of the Bowie. Very interested in how you do your aerial shots, which are so terrific. I was heartened to hear that Mr. Goff has plans to improve the streetscape around the Crescent Hotel. It"s needs some TLC. Hope those plans include the condition of Camp Bowie in front of the Bowie, which looks like a medieval version of the Appian Way.

You jest, but as someone who used to frequent the Ginger Man, I have yet to find another place quite like it. My friends and I still mourn the loss.

Yes I was being sarcastic however only slightly. I was a big fan of the Gingerman (just wished it was non-smoking). My statement was a play on the fact that as much as I love the new building I don't have the means to enjoy it like I was able to when the location was the Gingerman.

You could smoke in there? In the 21st century?
Yes. I moved back to FW in 2015 and they were still allowing smoking in bars. It wasn't until Billy Bob's went to non-smoking in 2016 that the city followed suit in 2018.

There's a restaurant in Grapevine that still allows smoking in the bar. Or did as March of this year.

Having shopped at the CVS for a number of years, I have never had a problem with it. But now that Bowie House is open, the CVS seems like an eyesore, and that prominent location now feels like a prime spot for a marquee mixed-use development.

It would seem like a good spot for a flat-iron style building like the one a few blocks to the east.
