Very cool!  Congrats, John and cycle club.  You are clearly in good company.  Another notch in the Fort Worth quality of life belt...

Every bicycling group in this city offers something different from the others.  They all have their advantages.  The Night Riders are a great group, too.

I am a b-cycle member and really like it... however I want to start riding for distance and exploration now. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good reasonably priced bike for the city?

Honestly my best advice is to go to Bicycles Inc.  They are a local company but have several locations in Tarrant County.  One thing I like about them is that they have a large inventory in the store, of many types of bikes, so you can try out a bike to see if you like it before buying it.
