I've noticed that each of these locations that gets approval uses a different operator: DroneUp, Wing, Zipline, etc. I'm wondering if they are all the same company using different operating names.

Another similar case of changing street names in the mid cities: Central Dr. starts at Pipeline and goes north through Bedford, becomes Jackson Rd. when it enters Colleyville at Cheek Sparger, continues through Colleyville and Grapevine as Pool Rd. from Glade to 26, becomes Brumlow Ave. for less than a mile to Continental in Southlake where it becomes Carroll Ave. until it dead ends at Burney.
That's Central-Jackson-Pool-Brumlow-Carroll in a 10 mile stretch.

The theater is beautiful and it looks like it is stuck in a time capsule. I have good memories of going to programs there when I was growing up. I'm with you on the hopes that they save it. It's a shame that the city has let so much of the building deteriorate. (I'll spare everyone my typical rant about the city staying out of the real estate business.)

I'm not a fan of it either. Several years ago, there was a local restaurant that had been in business forever and had some issues with equipment failure and aesthetic issues with the exterior of their building that they said they could not afford to rectify. They took their story of the buisness being in danger to social media and one of the followers started a Go Fund Me and solicited volunteers for some of the work. I'm all for being kind and helping others, but if a for-profit business has been open for decades and doesn't have a plan for repairs and equipment replacement, it might be time to get out of the business. I'm not going to name the restaurant since they've changed ownership and seem to have gotten their act together in recent years.

Not saying that isn't the case, but they cited similar landlord concerns with the North Richland Hills location and have never opened the location they said they were relocating to in the meantime.

Anybody been to Lola's Cuban yet? I love Cuban/island food and, maybe it's just because I'm starving right now, but their menu looks great.

I question how serious Wal Mart was when they said they would not reopen the Grapevine Sam's location. Even if they were, the closure left a big gap in coverage between Keller, NRH, Irving, and Lewisville. They would have added a nearby location eventually and they likely came to the realization quickly that remodeling their own property proved more benefical than leasing out something across the parking lot from a very busy Wal Mart and starting over new elsewhere. Finding a large enough open space in that area where they wouldn't face a war from the neighbors was going to be a tall order.

Vickery Cafe used to be one of my regular lunch spots. I started going there around 2010 or so and they changed owners back then. I have no idea if it's the same owner. The food was always outstanding and you couldn't beat the price on their daily specials. I probably haven't been in about 3 years. No particular reason, just changing tastes and I don't eat lunch out as much as I used to. This move is a huge shift and I wish them the best.

The siding is terrible. I get that it's value engineering, but a brick mix would look so much better.

We tried this Arizona chain that opened a location in Euless recently. It was built as a Walk Ons (chain cajun that made Razoo's look like a Louisiana swamp gas station on my last visit) that never opened. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. It's a good place for watching sports. I had 4 different NFL games in my line of sight, although I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a single tv tuned to the rare afternoon F1 race. Lots of weekend drink specials to cater to football fans.

That looks pretty slick. It's too bad that the end of the long straightaway has a Wal Mart as a backdrop.

There was a plat case before NRH zoning last week for a small development in the TOD area to the east of Davis. 50 or so zero lot line houses with some green space. It's a nice looking project, but it already sounds like it has drainage challenges and will get a little pushback from the neighbors. Therein lies the problem with NRH. Everyone wants lower taxes, but they pretty much hate any new development. The developer's rep at the zoning meeting certainly had his act together and sounds like he is willing to do a lot to make it happen.
