Hudgins Co, who developed Mag and May and are building Ramble and Rose are planning a 3rd project in Near Southside. This one will be located on the site where Cockrell Printing is, bounded by S. Houston, Daggett, Galveston and Broadway. It will be around 250 units.

Guess so, don't know where though.

I may not be the best writer but that entire website has some really strange copywriting.

Not sure what script on the website lacks good grammar, but I note that this company has developed a number of properties in the Fort Worth area.

I believe it is referred to as Conversational Copywriting and has become quite popular for web design, blogs etc. but I never quite warmed up to it.  It depends on the company's brand and tone which normally I see in this industry as being more serious, literal and matter-of-fact.  The Hudgins website in-question here is actually quite nice and perhaps when I looked at it on my phone this weekend (in a responsive format), it brought out large chunks of text and was probably the phrasing that I got hung-up on.

A web designer friend put it this way....on a website you need to have copy.  You can't just have pictures and headings so therein lies the challenge of what to write about that is both interesting and relevant to the reader and gets your message across quickly.  You don't want to annoy your reader with quippy anecdotal writing which I'm probably guilty of on many levels, so I can't be too harsh of a critic.

Yes, and the renderings are definitely not in line with the buildings description.

They are based here, main office is on N. Main street on Panther Island.

Here's is all the elevations and siteplan. The project is going before UDC for approval for a street facing garage. The garage here has been decorated with "kinetic wall". This reminds me of the works of Ned Kahn

Looking at the floor plan in the post above, what is between the courtyard and garage?  Are there units backing up to the garage, overlooking the courtyard?   I have no feeling for scale here - what dimensions of an interior courtyard feel "tight" vs "enough"?

I wonder what happened at this site.   I drove by the other day and there was no activity on the site nor was there any equipment.  It looks as thought the site was abandoned.  Maybe they are planning a return with other forms of equipment but it was peculiar to me.

My blind guess is that crew was demo / site prep only and perhaps they are still working on construction documents as well as bidding out the work for the rest of the project. Either that or prices came back 30-50% over budget and they are still licking their wounds trying to figure out next steps.

If the tower crane is red, then I saw part of it on the back of a flatbed truck driving up 287 the other evening from Mansfield headed towards downtown. Could have been something else but my first thought was to follow it to see what jobsite it was headed to. I also thought it could be the next section for Deco969.

It looks like the smart furniture provider for the building spilled the project name, which is evidently "Willow & Wise".

What does that mean? (aside from the project name)  Does the fact that they are using a certain type of furniture tell us something about the kind of apartments?  Think I'm missing something you guys are seeing.

This building at street level feels absolutely massive, but a welcome addition of new homes for people in S Main village. The green is interesting. Maybe the mural will tie it all together.

Welcomed addition yes, but to me it is merely functional for what it was made for.  The overall building is bland and basically a square box or a standard pancakeplex as we have defined these types of apartment buildings here on the forum.  The best thing about it is that it will bring more energy and life to S Main which I'm all for.

The kinetic garage screening is being put up now and it about halfway done already. I'd post a picture but you really need a video to do it justice. Over the weekend when it was really windy it looked super interesting. Of course very similiar to the roundabout sculpture on Panther Island, but much larger and flat. You can really "see" the wind on it.
