I can attest that it is nearly impossible to enforce fireworks ordinances. And 4 guys on a fire truck aren't going to risk assault trying to take a few fireworks from 6-10 partygoers, most of which have been drinking or are armed. They used to staff fireworks patrols for years. There's a reason they stopped doing it. It wasn't working and only costing the city more money.

It would be nice if they could do like in Austin, and only remove the trees directly in the way. Instead of scraping the ground. Agree or not, some of those trees are centuries-old living beings.
