They did one at a tap room about 3 minutes from my house a few weeks ago and I completely forgot about it.

It could be that the Fletcher's Corny Dog Pop-up (FCDPU) is the wave of the future.  Both attending the State Fair of Texas (SFOT) and then requiring the use of coupons has a chilling effect on the potential sell of the CD; my guess is there is a huge markup because of the exclusive vendor agreement between FCD and SFOT.  (FCD/15coupons?)

I think Sonic does a reasonable facsimile of the FCD during the SFOT run and at a more palatable price: $1.00 each; and is when I go crazy eating CD. :cheez:

The FCDPU has unlimited potential when you can purchase with greenbacks.

I would imagine that the FWSY would be an ideal location of a FCDPU

Sonic sells their corn dogs for $1 year round.  They are a good alternative, but I'm of the opinion that a corn dog is a corn dog.

There was a split in the Fletcher family and the side that didn't retain the name and the state fair business opened a brick-and-mortar location earlier this year.  As you can see by the name, they haven't settled everything with the other side of the family.

Yes, they rings true; Sonic sells the CD year round. I think Sonic even goes ridiculous when it sells them at 2/$1.00

I actually prefer a hot dog but when the SFOT rolls around, my yen for a CD gets feverish due to all of the promotion surrounding the fair.

Honestly, $1.00 is a fair price and 15 SFOT coupons for a CD is outrageous.

When I first saw "Fletch" at a festival last year or the year before, I figured they were a Fletcher's knock-off before learning it was the same family.

But, with it being a separate business, it should have a separate name.

The Squire Shop?  Never heard of it.  (Guess who gets most of his clothes at Costco...)  It's in the same building as Local Foods Kitchen though.... I know where that is.

I remember when Hulen Mall was just a linear concourse (before it was a T), there was a restaurant near the west doors in the middle (where the T comes in now) that had kind of a western/cowboy theme and they used to sell corn dogs there.  I used to take my son there frequently.  (He's 33 now.)

I can't eat corn dogs (of any brand) without yellow mustard and cheap beer. Needless to say I don't eat them that often...
