Pretty much just posting what everything I post here but a bit more streamlined. Felt like there's a bit of missing link without often Fort Worthology posts and wanted to share a bit more of the pics, renderings, etc I post elsewhere.

Follow me here,

I know, what's up with that? FWology was back on FW Weekly for 6 months and then gone again...

Thanks for pointing me toward his tweets, or I may never have seen them. Sorry to see Kevin doesn't have his login anymore for here. His perspective on several issues altered my thinking over the years- when is the last time that you could say that about something on the internet!

Some other miscellaneous tweets I've posted that didnt get posted on the forums as well.

Parents in urban neighborhoods probably can't use "I'll make you walk home" as a threat nearly as much as suburban parents.

Downtown generated 62 million in property taxes in 2015. Downtown is 560 acres or so. Curious how much 560 acres of suburbs would generate.

Another user did some number crunching, "1/4 acre per McMansion. $20k per year per McM, lets say 45 mil. (Assuming all housing)."

Really shows how profitable downtown is, considering a large amount of thata 560 acres is roads, churches, parks, govt facilites and other areas of land who are not paying property taxes, where as the 45 mil number is nothing but property.

According to the SoDT, there are 48,000 people employed in downtown Fort Worth, and 42,000 parking spaces. Overkill?

If you traveled from Ol' South pancakes to the Botanic gardens, you'd cross under or through 27 lanes of traffic in a quarter mile journey.

When Urban Fort Wayne and I found each other and had a stepbrothers moment,

That is an amazingly comprehensive collection of development in Fort Worth.  I can't wait to see the finished product.

Oops, sorry to spill the beans. It showed up in Google results when I was looking up a specific project.

There have been a lot of delays, but feel free to check out the website and leave any comments. I'm sure there are a lot of errors, typos or missing info.

Neat.  I noticed a couple of small edits to suggest, minor things.  I'll send them to you separately.

I think John should consider you as part of a formal continuity team for the FW Architecture and Forum sites. To maintain the same mix and flavor of interests there should probably be a local architect and an active preservationist involved as well, but all of us in the HS Grad cohort of 1976 are starting to think of retirement... and life goes on. This forum has proved to be quite influential in helping to inform decision makers in Fort Worth. How to make it possible for this positive influence to continue into the future will need to be considered at some point. (and thanks John, of course)

The site looks nice, Austin.

I have been away from the site this week due to work, dental appointments, and then getting my multi-variant Covid-19 Booster.  The dentist made me a little under the weather Thursday, and then the Covid-19 Booster came after work on Friday.  The side effects this time were not as bad, but I did have body aches, a low grade fever, and was very draggy.  I slept most of Saturday.  I woke up this morning a little tired, but feeling better.

Several years back, I asked Austin to join the Architecture in Fort Worth "team" and he said at the time, he didn't know how to work on a website.  Over time, I had asked a couple of other people, but these forum members also declined.  I plan to keep running the site as long as I can, so I can maintain the status quo.  However, since I am active in AIAFW and Historic Fort Worth, I'm pretty sure that I can get an architect or an organization to take over the site when I can't maintain it, or I'm no longer here.  I do want the site to continue into the future and it will probably be my legacy to the city.

I wrote a post on some of the city's vacant landmarks. Probably nothing folks of the forum don't know, but you can read it here: https://l.linklyhq.com/l/1cU8k

There was a short pause, but it worked for me.

It is not too long, no reason not to have the underlying link:

Great job Austin.   Was the 16 story building at Henderson and 7th not mentioned because there hasn't been any actual plans at this time?  Just curious.
