I'm addicted to their almond green tea.  There's one under construction about a half mile from my house and I might have to take up a second job.  Thankfully it's pretty cheap during their afternoon happy hour.

I've tried HTeaO once and the quality is top notch, tons of options too.  I'd be curious their process for filtering water as the tea was really clean and smooth.  Starbucks uses a five stage filtration process, I'd imagine they have a similar set-up.

Funny that Quince, which is known as a rooftop restaurant, settled for a patio where as several establishments are working on / have actual rooftop locations (Le Meridien, Pie Tap, Lot 12, Reata, Bird and Branch to name a few).  Maybe Quince should have shopped around for a more fitting location?

Wow, Im a sucker for a rooftop patio and welcome this as their neighbor. When I was in Denton this weekend I noticed a bar in their Square with a rooftop patio. (Where appropriate) Its livens up the street scape and hopefully attracts people.

Sometimes Magnolia can seem dead when in fact everyone is holed away in the restaurants. Maybe no coincidence that Pie Tap is in the middle of the most lively part of Mag - Maggies, Chat Room, and Nonna.

TLA you are right about it sometimes feeling dead.  I think it's because most of the parking is behind the businesses which is great but also people just don't walk here.  I was out with a friend and we had a drink at the usual and then Lazy Moose and then we decided to go to Shinjuku Station and he wanted to drive there.  It took some arm twisting but I finally got him to walk there which he liked but then complained the whole way back.

I am someone who walks, as well.  Many times when out on Magnolia, I have parked on one end and walked to the other.  If more people walked, the street would definitely be more lively.

Some friends of mine and I ate at Beast and Co a few months ago and then I suggested we walk to the Usual. They also complained about the distance haha! I walk 4 miles every morning, its the best way to clear my head.

Never forget that a forum member predicted that the proposed downtown streetcar would fail because passengers would be unwilling to walk the one block from Central Station to Calhoun Street.

I go to an entertainment industry conference and expo most years and they usually feature some sort of eye-catching, novelty attraction that's the talk of the show.  Dinner in the Sky was featured about 10 years ago or so and it never really took off (pun intended).  I believe the only appearance it's ever made in the US was in Vegas.

I was pretty impressed with Hurtado.  The sausage is probably some of the best I've had and the two sides I tried (tater tot casserole and street corn) were great.  A coworker let me try the burnt ends and they were good but not quite as good as Heim's. They have a two meat platter that's not advertised in their online menu and it was a little under $20 for that and a drink.  The dining room is small and it was a little cold for outdoor seating the day we went, so we had to wait a few minutes for a table to open.

The building is named the Hogan Office Building. The link on the name is to the listing here at Architecture in Fort Worth.  The name has some historical context.  After McCrory's left the building, Royal Hogan purchased it and moved Hogan Office Supply into it.  That's how the building has its current name.  If you are wondering who Royal Hogan was, he had a famous brother, Professional Golfer Ben Hogan.

There is quite a bit of grade change between General Worth Square and the old alley behind the building.  The rendering shows steps down to the counter.  Also, part of the concrete wall at the perimeter of General Worth Square will have to be removed.

I really like this project.
- it will help activate the park. Which feel’s underutilized.
- strategic location for the convention center crowd.
- we caught the Christmas parade near here. This building is small but lovely. The 900 block of Houston is pleasant to walk down.

TLA, I have felt the park has been underutilized since it was built.  Having a retail establishment open up to the square is a big plus.  As for the building, all of the buildings built around 1900 are small.  This building has an interesting history.  You can read more about it here on the main website: https://www.fortwort...com/shelton.htm

Interesting, so before Winchester it was Black Dog? I was thinking Jazz or low key live music. Maybe more like Twilite Lounge or Pinky’s, less formal than Scat Jazz.

Before we moved to Fort Worth, we’d take family down the TexRail from Grapevine. One time we did a bit of an impromptu pub crawl at bars only below or above grade - Thompson’s, Winchester, Branch & Bird, then finished the night at Scat Jazz. Soon there’s more options, with Sandman’s basement and Le Meridian’s rooftop.

Yeah, Black Dog was super laid back and not gimmicky or some kind of oversold ticketed act where they play the same show over and over.  I don't even recall there being a cover to get in.  It was just a nice place to hang out with great live music and they had a ton of loyal regulars.  I don't recall the names of all the bands, but there was a jazz ensemble with quite a few musicians and I want to say they had a weekly standing gig here Sunday nights.  I recall they probably had 10-20 musicians typically but they certain knew what they were doing and the music was different every time.

Interesting, so before Winchester it was Black Dog? I was thinking Jazz or low key live music. Maybe more like Twilite Lounge or Pinkys, less formal than Scat Jazz.

Paddy Red's Irish Pub was also in that space sometime between Black Dog and Winchester.

Has anyone tried Piada Italian Street Food?  I see there's one in Alliance and one opening in Euless soon.

This menu looks amazing:

I LOVE Piada. I've only had it maybe 5 or 6 times since it's so far away from my place though. Where's the Euless one going to be?
