Lots of reports of a plane crash a little less than 2 miles north of the JRB this morning.

There's a press briefing going on right now from Lake Worth PD.

I saw two military choppers flying over this morning... I'm all the way in the opposite corner of Fort Worth, but I was wondering why and maybe thinking this was a reason.

I left church at 11 near and saw the smoke column from Z Boaz. My immediate concern was a plane down at the base as it was in that direction.

Havent seen the latest but sounds like initial reports were that pilots ejected and taken to Parkland via careflight.

Some of us here in this forum may reside, as I do, under the flight path of the old Carswell AFB and now the joint Naval base.  Sometimes over the years growing up I had bad dreams about a jet crashing near my house in my southwest Fort Worth neighborhood.  Terrible what happened at Lake Worth and I hope it doesn't happen again.

I stayed at the LaQuinta on Quebec on Saturday/Sunday for a family event. I was checking out when the plane crashed. I think my nephew said he saw the pilots in their parachutes. It happened very close to the Lake Worth Fire Department and I understand that their response was almost immediate. 

 

I could see the smoke column as I headed to Jacksboro highway and I knew it was a plane when I saw a crash response truck from Carswell headed north on 199. And then about 4-5 other fire trucks and emergency vehicles. Quite a crowd of responders at the donut shop and eastbound 199 was shut down.
