75,000 sq feet, 60 million dollars. this will be state of the art and will help continue to bring world class care to our city and surrounding counties. im really excited about it, but then im biased.

I had already known about it and I had seen the dirt moving. This view above is excellent, as you can see the tower crane base and all of the rebar extending out of the ground from the piers.

I changed the title of the thread to be a little more specific and I added search tags to the thread.

Thanks for the additional information for those of use not to familiar with the med district. Any idea on how many stories it'll be and what it'll look like?

I remember something in the S-T several months ago. It was thin on details.

It was mentioned in the Star-Telegram and I even think the Business Press had a story on it.

I had occasion to visit the ER at Harris SW Hospital Sunday night. I have to say that their patient flow process is so much better than hospitals used to be. There's a quick triage, they seem to have plenty of rooms to take you to, the admissions/insurance tasks are done on a mobile terminal brought into the room, same for x-rays. It's a pretty tight process now. I think this new ER in the Harris downtown hospital will lead to similar level of service.

Huge fan of that particular Harris hospital. My daughter was born there, and my new son will be born there in another month or so. Their cardiology department is also the reason we found a heart defect in my daughter and saved a friend of mine's Dad when he had a heart attack earlier this year. Can't say enough good things about that hospital.

a lot ...a lot of cutting edge hardware and completely re-thought processes. it's going to put this city on the map for medicine. presently the "old ER" sees 300 people a day in 25k square feet (only big baylor and parkland in dallas see more and barely at that). this building is 75k square feet and to give you a sense of what's going on in this city block --- plaza at north tarrant parkway is building an entire hospital for how much is being sunk in this one department. the mannequin in the simulation lab costs 325k dollars. i know I'm biased but this place is going to be special.

Harris is expanding the parking garage just West of the ER to add an additional 500 spaces.

Wow, who us knew this about the separation of hospitals from emergency rooms?

Looks like Tarrant County is greatly impacted  -

With all the stark news about our doctors, nurses and hospital staff, we are hearing that Covid-19 may bring on a war zone here too.

Godspeed to you Doc.

Wasn't sure whether this was the right thread for this, but I was hoping for an updated photograph of the construction site.  Article in FWBP.
