I don't have a problem with meeting.  It isn't as if Benito's is especially crowded.

I'll try, but it is much harder now that I work in Arlington.

As for crowds, I'd hope everyone who is attending has been vaccinated. If you haven't been, perhaps you should skip for the time being for your own health. Sounds like the majority of hospitalizations and deaths are from the unvaccinated.

Since we have started bringing the forum meetings back, I would not have even considered attending if I had not been fully vaccinated.  I still wear my mask in all indoor public places.

I won't get into the airport until 5:30 PM if things are on time, and concert begins at 8:00 PM sharp! The PM shift version of the monthly Forum Meeting can be at Ye Olde Bull and Bush on Montgomery sometimes after 11:15 PM. See you there chaps and dames.

RD, I would love to get together with you again, but this is pretty short notice.  I will have to think about it.  Maybe some of the other forum members will be able to attend.

This Friday is our regularly scheduled forum meeting date.  I have already started retreating from public gatherings and eating inside restaurants.  I'm thinking that if you want to meet at Benito's on Friday, you may, but I will not be attending.

Although I couldn't attend the previous lunch due to work, it's unfortunate to read people are scaling back on plans again, even if they are vaccinated.

Business can't survive if people won't patronize them. Many businesses died permanently during the first wave of people staying home. There are many more businesses that can't survive a second wave of people staying home.

Dylan, I am still doing carryout at my local restaurants, and I would consider eating outside.  However, I will admit that I am still not purchasing a meal at a restaurant as much as I did in 2019.  One thing we might consider is having our next forum meeting at Wild Acre Brewing Co. on Camp Bowie.  I did the restaurant, and they have a nice outdoor patio.  It's also close to my office, but further for a lot of people.  We have a few weeks to see if cases rise, or fall.

I expect that there will be more businesses to close if people whole follow the data see escalating trends here after Labor Day as happened after Independence Day.

But that will not be a shortcoming of those people making good choices about vaccinations and masks, but rather collateral damage of people making alternate decisions about those topics.

What is frustrating is that using the language of personal freedoms, their actions are bringing consequences that limit the freedoms of people attentive to exposure risks.

We are smart enough to have come to understand this in regards to smoking, that the decisions and consequences extend beyond personal heightened lung cancer risk and on to the effects of second hand smoke, but there is an utter lack of recognition of the benefits of risk reduction techniques of the spread of viruses even with the clear evidence of how mitigating actions impacted the spread of influenza.

The people who try to make good decisions based on their understanding of the risks will not be the reason that businesses close, it will simply be from the increase in risks from those people who are blinded from understanding how they are contributing to increasing these risks.

Roverone, you may be right about the escalating trends after Labor Day.

I am fully vaccinated with the Moderna Vaccine and I plan to get a booster shot, just as soon as it becomes available.

Also, for the record, I am tipping as much or more doing carryout meals, as I was pre-Covid.

I thought I missed something, too!  We are going to Benito's on Magnolia.  We will meet a little before noon on Friday, March 25.  I'm real busy at work, so I may be straggling over there right at 12.  If you are there early, please hold the table.

We missed both of you.  We have been extremely busy the last couple of weeks.  New work is coming in every day.  I spent all day on Wednesday measuring two buildings for two different clients in Weatherford, and I was finishing up inputting the plans in our CAD system on Friday when a new project from out of the blue came in by e-mail from our landlord.  That was right before I was planning to leave for Benito's.

It looks like April's forum lunch will take place on the same day as Tarrant Area Food Bank's "Empty Bowls" event.

I'm in training for my new job, and don't know what my schedule will look like after next week. If I happen to be off that day, I will probably attend Empty Bowls instead.

It's a bit pricey, but you get to sample food from dozens of chefs. The entry fee is a donation to feed those in need.

This month's lunch will fall on Friday, April 29.  By no small coincidence, forum member @hipolyte is participating in a pop-up art show that afternoon.  If anyone has the time, it might be fun to go support Deran after lunch.

i am always dependent on how work goes. i really intended to go last time but said nothing because i couldn't commit - and as it turns out a technical issue arose that morning that required my attention. i'll keep an eye on this thread and if i get a break i'll make a run for Benito's.
