I went to the Tacodeli that's by Park Lane in Dallas once. It's okay, to be honest those places suffer from having high prices for not a ton of food.
Torchy's does good by having good queso and street corn that comes in a kind of big cup with a lot of chips, at least.

I like Torchy's but I always feel like I just ate a bowl of concrete afterwards, it's so heavy for some reason but the the flavors hit right.

My memories of TacoDeli in Austin were of hipsters with screaming, ill-behaved children, pricey tacos, ok food, and disinterested Gen Z workers. Perhaps it would be different in Fort Worth. Give me some of the taco dives on the Northside or Southside over TacoDeli any day. No great loss if this fell through from my perspective.

"hipsters with screaming, ill-behaved children, pricey tacos, ok food, and disinterested Gen Z workers"
So you're saying it's Torchy's?
That makes me laugh out loud. I do like Torchy's queso, though.

I would say that Torchy's food is a little better than ok, but your description of the atmosphere is spot on. The only thing you missed is every table getting cleaned maybe twice a day at best.

It's a typical greasy spoon similar to Vickery Cafe. Breakfast all day, open for dinner during the week. I've been to the Rufe Snow location once and it was good.

Had Fort Redemption last night off camp bowie.
Their menu was two steak dishes, a salmon dish, a burger and a salad with Ahi Tuna. That's it except for maybe a special or two on occasion.
Decor is nice as compared to the old mexican place. Food was okay.
I would be shocked if they last a year with the limited menu selection.

I wish we had 10 Indian options. Or even one really good one for that matter. The only thing I miss about commuting to Coppell daily is the Indian food.
An Indian restaurant named Tabla is opening a location in Fort Worth tomorrow,

New painted wall and signage at 1010 W. Magnolia for “Bread and Better Life Cafe”. Former location of Beast & Co. Didn’t find anything online what this business is. Perhaps a cafe with light bites and coffee. Just a block from Kawah, the latest coffee shop.
I remember when this first popped up, there was a lack of details online too. This is former Beast & Co, right? 122 is a pretty good occupancy, I seem to recall they had a little balcony level didn't they? Beast and Co owners put a lot of sweat equity in fixing up that place from what I recall reading online, hopefully this group lasts a little longer.

Just a tip for those who like Indian food: We've been disappointed that there didn't seem to be a lot of Indian restaurants in Fort Worth. In fact, we would take the train to downtown Dallas for Indian food when the mood hit. But that changed today.
We tried Texas Indian Kabab and Grill on Trail Lake Drive in Fort Worth. Hands down it was the best Indian food I've had here in Texas, including during our time in Austin. The restaurant is super clean, their service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. And the food tasted like it was from someone's home kitchen. They've been open about 8 months according to our server. I highly recommend it for any one who likes Indian food.

I'm confused, this seems like a lowkey guilt trip. So "being better" are they referring to eating better or just not being such a bad person? What's funny is I typically hear people say "I need to eat better" after they've just had a ton of bread and carbs.

The fine print in the windows mentions it being a venture of the Seventh Day Adventists. I'm not too familiar with them, but I know they have unique dietary beliefs.
So this is might actually be around for a while if it is funded by a religious group, assuming they'll be doing ministry outreach, feeding people or some kind of proselytization here.
Some friends who are Seventh Day Adventists said they observe Sabbath from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown meaning they don't work or shop or go out to retail spots to cause others to work during this time and they also don't eat meat, specifically they don't believe in boiling a calf in its mother's milks (ie. no cheeseburgers).

Other Magnolia notes
Cafecito, which got it start in the Funkytown Food Hall, has opened in it's own home in the old Eazy Monkey/Fixture space. I went earlier this week and it was packed! Food is really good still and they have more options than the food hall space.
In Cafecito's old space in the food hall, Beren Mediterran has opened. I also stopped by for lunch and it's also good.

Can’t remember if I posted this; the Effin Egg space now says for lease. Originally, they had a banner saying they were coming back. They are still franchising around the country. Guessing this was an issue with this one and the franchisees.

What’s a Keke’s? It’s a new Fort Worth restaurant from Denny’s, with a diner spirit
By Bud Kennedy February 10, 2025 5:30 AM
https://www.star-tel...l#storylink=cpy
I tried Keke's. It was probably the blandest breakfast experience of my life. The color palette of the restaurant is all pastels. There's absolutely nothing on the menu you can't get anywhere else. It was fine, just very, very generic.
It wasn't cheap. I got one of the combo specials and with coffee it came to almost $20 before the tip ($13.99 entree + $3.99 coffee (!) + tax ~= $19.50). This got me one large pancake, two eggs, and four sausage links.
(!) I did the math, and two cups of coffee, original cup plus a refill, totals less than $.25 in materials. Yes, some labor for brewing, but really...

It appears that the owner of The Original Mexican Eats Cafe is planning to do a walk-up/drive thru version of the restaurant on the parking lot that he owns. This would somewhat re-establish his restaurant within a few feet of the space he vacated.
While you are on Street View, go around the corner and take a look at the building where The Original was located. The owner has subdivided the space back to the point when the building was built. He also restored the storefront and made the spaces accessible.
