I sorry to say that I actually hadn't given TB-E much of my attention. TB-E is yet another gem in our City.

Its hard to imagine a hotel with bar being so near to BB; so much so,  that I think the listing agent may have used his canned executive summary to make.

I think we can anticipate that BB will soon be gobbling up TB-E for its campus expansion.  I admire BB so this is not a knock on it.

There was a guy that posted here years ago (like back to the version of the forum before this one) and always teased about a big project coming to Temple Beth-El.  He used a lot of flowery language about unity and collaboration and was a little cagey about the whole thing when pressed for details.

I received that notification through Near Southside, Inc. yesterday.  I probably should have posted that news.

Here's some more info on the project from last month's building meeting.  I didn't post it, but you can watch the slides about the project cost and budget update in detail if you have time.  It's nice to see transparency with cost and I'm sure it's never fun asking members to give more money on top of what they already have given or plan to give.  I think it's reassuring to some members that every dollar is accounted for and for some people, they also take great pleasure in knowing their generosity paid for the carpet or pews or sound system.  I honestly didn't know this project was as far along as they are.

The building will be on the next walking tour when we hit the Near Southside.  The date is April 13th.  This is the one time in about a year +/- that we cover the Near Southside.  Off the record, I'm working on getting us inside Broadway Baptist Church.
