The city is pursuing an FC Barcelona youth academy. Cary Moon says a new soccer complex could be built at Walsh Ranch, independent from the plans to build one at Basswood and 35W.

Now that Moon is out, does this sports complex project go away? Why was he so interested in this project to begin with?

District 4 has a site that overlaps with his district and would allow for joint-funding with Keller ISD in their boundaries. Would there be a school district willing to partially fund the other proposed sites (Northwest ISD, Fort Worth ISD/Aledo ISD, etc.) like Keller ISD has for this project?

Appears to be moving forward.

I'm so confused, someone help me out here.
They published this article yesterday 5/10/22 and they cite Cary Moon as representing council district 4. Did he not resign from the council to run for Texas House Seat 93 (as required) or is he still a voting member of the city council? I guess Blaylock hasn't been sworn in officially yet, but it didn't stop Moon and other council members from taking a trip to Spain in April (that's last month right)? I keep looking at the date on this article thinking it was from 2021 but it says it was published yesterday. Please help me understand what is going on here? Seems like a lot of deal-making going on here ahead of voting on this project. Do city council members normally broker these types of deals and then present it for vote to the various city boards? I hope there is an extreme amount of transparency with this project if it goes through which it appears it will.

...Fort Worth’s city charter requires Moon relinquish his seat in order to run for the Texas Legislature’s District 93 seat held by State Rep. Matt Krause. He can serve in an acting position until his replacement is selected in May 2022...

Ready to see this deal die. Selfishly hoping for a downtown soccer stadium.
I'm fine with the complex being up north... BUT, I want Farrington to be the stadium.

So... this is a more accurate concept for what I want for "Fort Worth Flyers SC"...
Still working on it.
