"Fort Worth Report - A new nonprofit, nonpartisan local digital news organization"

Is anyone tracking this?  Curious what this all-digital platform is going to look like.  They could just post a bunch of hyperlinks to our conversations on the forum and call it a day.

Fort Worth and Tarrant County will have a new source for local news with the creation of the Fort Worth Report, its founders announced today. Fort Worth Report will offer deep coverage of civic issues, local government, education, architecture and culture in an all-digital platform, beginning this spring.

(OK, I added the word architecture just to mess with you guys.)

Wonder if this will do as well (or not) as the other recent attempts at new local news sources:

Looks like they are hiring reporters and photographers.

Around this time last year, I participated in a focus group regarding local news in Fort Worth. This is the news site that the focus group meetings were held for.

Though, it doesn't appear there will be a video component. I watch most of my news. Still, I will be sure to check out this site when it launches.

elpingüino, you beat me to it.  I was going to post the link tonight after I ate dinner.  Thanks for getting it on the forum.

There's some good reporting happening so far.  The lead piece on the mayoral race is excellent.

I think we will have to create a new sub topic for the new media coming to fore in FW.  FWST and the usual regional news organizations have new competition!

Here is a nascent media organization that I am just discovering? or is it a rehash of Fort Worth Weekly?

I was not familiar with this organization so I checked out a few articles.

This article on the homepage, "Moon Defeats Challengers, Holds Fort Worth City Council District 4 Seat," is in the Food and Drinks section, has a picture of someone who is not Councilman Moon, and has no news beyond the headline and author bio.
https://dailyfortwor...istrict-4-seat/

"5 Best Seafood Restaurants In Fort Worth" lists Red Lobster first.
https://dailyfortwor...ort-worth-🥇/

The "Visit" section leads with an article about the heat wave in Portland, and in the "Home Services" section, articles about Connecticut, Missouri, and Washington DC.

"Daily Fort Worth News" seems the opposite of The Fort Worth Report -- perhaps just a bot.

I only saw a single writer for 1400+ posts.

The domain was registered November 26, 2020.

Pappadeaux is also listed in their best seafood.  I guess Joe's Crabshack and Long John Silver were closed that day.

It's just a bot or at least a site that takes a lot of other people's work and passes it off as original.

That may explain the link to Fort Worth Weekly which did give me pause at the time.

He's been there a few months now, but Fort Worth Report has picked up Robert Francis, who was an editor with FWBP for almost two decades.
