The Westbrook Hotel had a significant mural painted somewhere in the lobby during the 20s or 30s. The artist was Wallace Simpson (1880-1956) who was known for cattle scenes actually witnessed as he worked on legendary Texas ranches.. A restoration was begun in the 60s. I cannot find any photos, so I was curious if anyone remembers seeing the mural.
I tried to find information on the mural. All I could find was that it was called "Longhorn Steers" and was restored by Mrs. Dallie Allen in the 1970's.
Thanks. I appreciate the info. I will keep looking for any photos and post one if successful. By the way, this forum is super! Lots of great information.
