Tilt-Shift is not a new thing, but I just stumbled across it today and thought I'd share.
It is a photographic technique where the lens is tilted/rotated relative to the image plane and also shifted/offset relative to the that plane. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but one effect that can be achieved is that pictures can be made to look like they're shot of miniatures.
Here are examples a ran across today:
Slickzine: Tilt-Shift, Shrinks the world around you
Smashing Mag: 50 Beautiful Examples Of Tilt-Shift Photography
I played around with a couple web-based tools that try to simulate that effect. Mine were nowhere near as cool as the ones in these articles but I may upload them and post them here anyway.
Has anyone else used this to create images you would like to share?
