I'm not from Fort Worth but I enjoy exploring it and learning of its history along the way. Sometimes I have a camera with me (or just use my cell phone) and take some pics. I thought some of these pics might be good fodder for a thread. If you have pics taken around town that fit in here, feel free to join in.

On a recent ride, I went to the Paris Coffee Shop for breakfast.

The bike in the foreground is my trusty steed, a 1973 Schwinn Varsity reclaimed from the Fort Worth city dump.

Just down Magnolia is the old Gunn's Cleaners. It's being renovated into a brew pub.

The original windows are being restored.

The windows on the side wall will be reconstructed to match the windows on the front of the building (in the first picture).

That's enough for now; I'll post more later.

Thnaks for the pics. I spent many Saturday morning having breakfast with some of my friends for years at Paris Coffe Shop. Living out in Coppell and don't hike to Fort Worth as much as I would like.

And of course the school

Last Christmas Eve I took these at the Water Gardens. I had just rescued the Raleigh Marathon bike from a dumpster a week before.

And a peek at the Omni on the way out.

This is probably an over-done shot of the Courthouse from just across the river, but I did it anyway on today's afternoon ride.

And here are a few pics of the bike I was riding today- the 2009 Schwinn Cutter my wife got me for Christmas. biggrin.gif

Some unusual shots of the rail yard as seen from the Trinity Trail, just west of Colonial Country Club, taken last night during my ride:

The yellow/orange hue comes from the lights in the rail yard. It was actually pitch dark out.

We can adjust. This is from last Friday; I was running errands on my bike when it was 16 degrees.

I had to ride into the wind for the first part of the trip.... check out those flags.

On my way back I stopped at the original Cousin's on McCart for lunch:

Although I have been living out in Coppell the last four years, I can not forget all the years living in Fort Worth. It appears to be Cousin's BBQ on McCart in S.W. Fort Worth and it sure looks good. Their BBQ was always so lean. Yes it does look like the flags are bucking the wind.

A nice shot of downtown from my ride last Sunday

I took pics from several angles that day...

The cyclist's nemesis: the entrance to downtown from the Trinity Trail via Taylor Street. I've heard this is a 12% grade.
