Yes, Saturday, the 16th.  That might work better if I promote it more on the forum.

The next Downtown Walking Tour is Saturday, October 14th at 9:00 AM.  The title of the tour is "Making Tracks - Fort Worth's Railroad History".  We meet at an appropriate location, the Texas & Pacific Railway Terminal on Lancaster.

The walking tour is coming up on Saturday at 9 AM, if any of you are interested in attending.  It is an educational experience.

You're welcome, Hipolyte.  However, I will admit that the railroad tour was not within my field of expertise.

Unfortunately, I still regret not mentioning the removed T&P platforms when we were in the tunnel behind the building.

The tour was fun- thanks, John!

The next Downtown Wlaking Tour is this Saturday. The November tour always features John F. Kennedy and his last day in Fort Worth.

It starts at 9 AM and we meet at the Texas & Pacific Lofts office at the Texas & Pacific Railway Terminal at 221 W. Lancaster Avenue.

The December tour is always special.  We do the history of the downtown churches.  We are talking about trying to gain access to two of the church buildings.

We are thinking about doing a downtown hotel tour for January.

The December Downtown Walking Tour is this Saturday, starting at 9:00 AM at the Texas & Pacific Lofts.  The theme for December's tour is "Churches".  The tour leaders are making arrangements for us to go inside at least one of the downtown churches.

Is the walking tour still on for Saturday the 13th? Since it coincides with the Stockshow Parade, and is going to be in the 20's... just curious. It also is the same time as the First Flight dedication of the Bleriot type XI.

Yes, the walking tour is still on.  Unfortunately, I can't be in 3 places at the same time, and I had agreed in November that I would be leading a walking tour this month.  So, I will be leading a tour.  However, I might be able to make a cameo at the parade.  It's going to be cold, and I don't look forward to it, but I will tough it out.

My wife and I signed up for the tour before we knew the First Flight would be on the same day. I would really like to do both, but have a vested interest in the Flight program. My wife may do the tour while I do the FF.  Or we might both show up and I might leave early.  Is the current sculpture tour similar to the other sculpture tour we took?

Yes, it will be very similar.  We also still have to do as much as we can to stay out of the way during the pre-parade happenings.

We are going up on one of the roof terraces at the Blackstone.  We also wanted to get into the new Aloft, but we were unsuccessful in contacting them.

You're welcome.  I should have posted something earlier, but I do get busy.  The next tour is the Lancaster Corridor and it is going to be a week early.  It's Saturday, March 3rd, and that is one day before the scheduled implosion of Westchester Plaza.

I'm late in posting this, but the March Downtown Fort Worth Walking Tour has been cancelled.  Dr. Rick Selcer, Tim, and Donna Young couldn't make it on March 10th, so we moved it to March 3rd.  Tim and Donna also could not make it on that date.  After last month's tour, we found out that the Resident's Lounge, where we normally meet, was also booked.  We could not go to Tim and Donna's apartment on the 3rd, and all of the other rooms at the T&P were booked.  Therefore, we had no place to meet inside, and it was decided to cancel the tour for the month of March.  Things should return to normal in April when the tour is Lancaster Avenue.

The next Downtown Fort Worth Walking Tour is on May 12th.  This one will be more right up my field of expertise, as the subject will be West 7th Street, or The Canyon.  We will chronicle the history and development of the street, along with the architecture.  I would like to encourage more Fort Worth Forum Members to attend this one tour.

It's that time of the month again.  This month's Downtown Walking Tour is the Courthouse Square.  We will see where Fort Worth began with a walk all the way down the bluff to the river.  This means that the walk will be about 5 miles.  If you are attending, be sure to wear your walking shoes and be prepared for a long walk and probably longer tour.  However, it will be fun.

Next month's walking tour is a "Smorgasbord".  Dr. Richard Selcer and Brian Ketcham will be doing "Murder Most Foul", the murder mystery tour.  Tim and Donna Young will be doing the "Postcard" tour.  I will be doing a straight "Architectural Tour".  The date is July 14th.

This month's tour was not rained out.  We had a light attendance, but still did three groups.  Here's how the rain went.  It was raining when I left the house to start the tour, but diminishing.  We conducted the whole tour without rain.  I drove home dry and pulled into the driveway.  Before I could get into the house, it dumped on me and I was soaked before I could unlock the back door.

The December Downtown Walking Tour is Saturday, December 8, at 9:00 AM.  The December Tour is always a special one since we walk to the Downtown Churches.  We will meet at the Texas & Pacific Lofts and there will be breakfast burritos for everyone.  It appears that we will be going inside the St. Patrick Cathedral, which is one of my favorite church interiors.

I have missed a few Downtown Fort Worth Walking Tours this year due to colds and one previous obligation.  This month, I will be back and the only other tour guide will probably be Dr. Richard Selcer.  This month's tour is our once a year deviation from downtown, when we tour the Near South Side.  The tour will start at the Texas & Pacific Lofts at 9:00 AM.  The date for the tour is next Saturday, July 13, 2019.

Were there multiple groups today?  I saw John's group (Hi John!  Hi Dylan!) but I think there was at least one other group today.

The Clear Fork Bike Club at breakfast at Corner Bakery and we saw y'all traipsing around.  When I saw you John and Dylan, I was on my way to the bathroom:  they're remodeling the lobby of the Blackstone (including their bathrooms off the lobby) so to go to the bathroom so we had to go outside, into hotel lobby, take the elevator to the 5th floor and wait in line for the single seat public restroom next to their fitness center. :(

Yes, there were 3 groups today.  It was nice running into you.  I know that you had your Clear Fork Bicycle Club ride today, but you really missed out on a wonderful tour of The Sinclair.

I had heard that they were remodeling the lobby of the Blackstone, but I didn't know that it forced you to go up to the 5th floor to use the restroom.

With the current health climate, I'd vote on cancelling for now. I think the CDCs most recent recommendation even draws the line at gatherings of 10 people.

I will agree with you.  Even though I am a tour guide, I am not the one who hosts this tour.  Tim and Donna Young have not notified us that it is officially cancelled.  Personally, I think that by Saturday, gatherings of more than 10 people will be outlawed.
