Kalleen and I finally made it to Goldee's today.  She thought the crowds would have thinned out, but it was pretty busy.  We arrived at 12:30, stood in line outside for one hour, and then, when we got to the door, they started running out of everything.  They usually have enough chopped brisket left to usually feed the remaining people in line.  That's all of the meat they had left, so we each ordered a half pound.  We both wanted potato salad, but they ran out of that, and only baked beans and cheese grits were left.  I ordered the beans and that was enough.  She ordered both remaining sides.  I sampled the cheese grits and they were definitely good, but I'm not a big grits fan.  It was a fun lunch and certainly different.  Now, I can say I have tried their barbecue.

I've yet to try it simply because of what I've heard about the lines.  The reviews I've heard have been pretty mixed.  My brother is a bit of a BBQ fanatic and was not that impressed.

She had wanted to try it for quite some time, but I don't like to stand in line for anything.  However, we finally decided to make this an adventure.  If they ran out of food before we got inside, then we could say we tried, stood in 106 degree heat (in the shade with a breeze and misters) for an hour, visited with some friendly people in the line, and then we would go to Jambo's on 1187.
