6421 Camp Bowie Blvd.

Formerly:
Commercial Standard Building

This unique Mid-Century Modern office building was designed by Mackie and Kamrath from Houston.  This firm was known for their modernistic designs.  It appears the building was inspired by the works of Frank Lloyd Wright.  The building is "L" shaped with a one story wing running perpendicular to Camp Bowie and a three story wing running down the slope of the site in the back.  The building faces a tree lined and landscaped sloped yard, but this is actually another piece of property.  The most dominant feature of the building is the cantilevered aluminum canopy fronting Camp Bowie Blvd.  Louvers sit in front of all of the windows to screen the building from the sun.
