Sid Richardson Physical Sciences Building
2955 S. University Dr. - 1970
This unique structure on the campus of Texas Christian University was the
first commission for Paul Rudolph in Fort Worth. He would later be
hired to design several more buildings in the area. The Physical
Sciences Building was designed as an addition to the older, Art Deco
inspired Science Building on University Drive. Rudolph chose to
contrast the original structure and design with cantilevers and circular
forms. The building has very few windows, but is clad in yellow brick
that is common throughout the campus. The building is centered around
a raised courtyard formed on three sides by this structure and on the fourth
by the original science building. |
