J.M. Moudy Visual Arts Building
2805 S. University Dr. - 1980
Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo and Associates from Hamden, Connecticut
designed this visual arts building complex for Texas Christian University.
Although it reads from University Drive as one building, it is actually two
buildings that are connected by glass covered walkways. In some ways,
it was a departure from most of the buildings on campus in that other than
the glass enclosed areas, the primary building material is concrete.
The yellow brick is only used as an accent along the north and south walls.
The west facade of the building is entirely of glass and concrete. The
university has allowed ivy to climb the concrete walls; thereby, softening
the view of the building along University Drive.
