Newkirk-Wallerick Building
1223-31 S. Main St. - 1926
This commercial building sits at the northeast corner of S. Main and E.
Magnolia Avenue. It is rectangular in plan and each storefront entry
is noted by a gabled parapet. The remainder of the roof is hipped and
is clad in red clay tile. Over the years, the structure has housed
various businesses which included restaurants, barber shops, and cleaners.
The style of the building is present in several other local commercial
buildings built in the city within the same time period.
Daedalus Development currently has their offices in the building. |
