Hi everyone - I think this question is best suited for the miscellaneous files. Looking at some 1952 aerials of Fort Worth, I can see that the Trinity used to 'snake' quite a bit between 7th Street and the 199 bridge. In images from a few years later, this stretch of the river is completely straight. Was this part of the city's response to the 1949 flood? My guess is that new levys were built and the river was dredged. Would be curious to hear what some of the older contributors here would remember about this.
