Zeloski bldgs. in old photos

06 April 2008 - 01:09 PM

Seeking vintage photos of the Zeloski commercial rows on Camp Bowie Boulevard, or of any of the retail and service tenants (exteriors, interiors, people, window-shoppers' views, etc.). The earlier the better, beginning in 1921. Thanks in advance for images you may have and are willing to share for publication in a neighborhood newsletter, and for any suggestions and referrals.

the Zeloskis

Is anyone in contact with living relatives of the Zeloski family (children of Frank and Martha Z.)? Does anyone have specific memories, information, referrals to documents on their commercial buildings (featured on the Architecture in Fort Worth website), their old residence, tenants in their buildings on Camp Bowie Boulevard (Miller & Hanger Grocery, Green Front Store, Mott's), and more? Does anyone have photographs to share? Thanks in advance.

Elusive photo of Ye Arlington Inn

03 January 2008 - 09:12 PM

Although I was delighted to find the great (if grainy) image of Ye Arlington Inn as a new addition to the Jack White Collection via the forum, when I contacted UTA Special Collections I learned that the photo is not there. ??? The photography specialist suggested that it may have been taken from the newspaper page (FWST August 21, 1965) rather than from a photograph.

I'm hoping to turn this image in along with an article I'm writing for the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association newsletter, but would appreciate help from anyone who could tell me where to look next.

No doubt many of you have enjoyed looking at this. The credit underneath the photo indicates it is in the public domain.

Time is short; I was trying to get a good image by Jan. 7. Even if I don't, I'm interested for the not-so-immediate future, too.

Thanks in advance for any help, referrals, etc.

Fournier family

[size=2]Do any forum participants know of the family for whom Fournier Street is named? Our water department's home is there. I will check census records, city directories, etc., but just wondered if you all have information, insights, etc.[size=2]

Does anyone have information on Chamberlin Park in the Como neighborhood?
