Rendering via FWBP. Should start Sept/Oct and be done by 2019.

The cantilevered glass area reminds me of Sears Tower's Skydeck, just minus 102 floors.

I just hope someone gives the poor woman on the left some Tylenol.  It looks like she has a migraine.

I think it is pretty cool looking myself!

This is a QUICK video so don't blink or you'll miss it...  The first thing you see is the CNB clock and then the Tarrant County Courthouse when it "upgraded" in 1958.  I believe the clock tower was painted white and outlined in neon with a neon flag on top.  I wasn't even born at the time but what were they thinking?

Ya know...  I don't hate it but it looks like it should be facing the gulf on Seawall Blvd. in Galveston.  Just throw in some palm trees and maybe outline it in hot pink neon.  ;-)

#101668 Residence Inn at "Houston and 8th"

Just build it and quit thinking small.  The addition of that building and the Frost Tower will make a nice addition to the skyline.  I also think that the proposed hotel in the cultual district should be left at 12 stories.  Just my opinion.

I don't see why they can't.  They swapped the lights out for LED's a few months ago.

A lot of high end retailers are located across the street in UPV...  Why would you think others would not work on the other side of the street?

http://www.simon.com...-village/stores   Blue Mesa is moving to W7th and Breadwinners is going in.  Same with the dying Chili's chain.  Chili's out Eatzi's in.

#96769 West 7th Development

I agree...  I used to live in North Arlington and was in the flight path of D/FW...  You get used to it.  I think the night I will remember most is 9/11.  The planes were not flying at all and the silence was deafening.

I guess its kinda like buying a house next to an airport then complaining about the airplane noise!  I'm not 55 yet but I can see it up ahead and I gotta tell ya I still like the thump, thump, thumpin music...

#96002 Texas Weslyan bringing back football

Posted by jefffwd on 12 February 2016 - 02:45 PM

Will UTA ever bring back football???  When I went to UTA it just seemed like 13th grade and most people I knew commuted.  The majority of the students that lived on campus just did not seem to be into football.  Just imagine TCU football, UTA football, TWU football and the Cowboys all in one county.  Well, the first three would be football teams anyway.  LOL!

#95976 New 7th Street Bridge

Posted by jefffwd on 10 February 2016 - 09:04 PM

Sometimes I just don't get some of you...   The 7th Street Bridge is beautiful and seems to have cost a LOT less than the new bridges in Dallas.  LED color changing lights sound awesome.  It is often the backdrop for NBC5 News during the Today Show and the midday news as well as other times.  I guess you'd rather have 7th looking like it did 20 years ago?  Ugh!

#93961 Frost Tower - Jetta Operating to Build Downtown Office Building

Posted by jefffwd on 10 October 2015 - 09:06 AM

Yes, Las Colinas has similar rules but Dallas seems to welcome all the logos they can get (chase, at&t, txu etc.)  Having been in commercial real estate for many years I understand the need to attract corporate tenants but IMO it does look classier when your downtown  doesn't look like Times Square or Vegas...  That said, I have no problem with the Frost logo.  It is discreet and doesn't scream "Look at me!"  Also, does anyone else feel like the Omni in FW looks so much better then the one in Dallas that is very "Vegas-esque".
