Interesting that Ballard said he is excited to bring these cars to Fort Worth and Dallas.

I was talking with a friend in the IT business and I told him I thought Amazon would go to Denver or somewhere on the front range. He said he thinks it will be Boston. So we have a friendly bet to see who comes the closest geographically.

He did bring up some points I hadn't thought of. He said Amazon already knows where they want to go and wrote the RFP to meet their choice. He thinks opening up nationwide for RFP's is a way to secure concessions from their choice with every place making offers and there is always the outside chance someone will make an offer too good to refuse.

As to Fort Worth making a separate offer, the RFP asks for one proposal per MSA. Could be like a high school test, if you don't follow the rules you fail.

Exactly, is Fort Worth considering a property tax rate cut? The wording of their proposal doesn't sound real professional. Also, by the time the next years budget comes up for a public hearing it is cast in stone. The public can make whatever suggestions they want but it will fall on deaf ears.

Anybody know if DFW has picked up any of the foreign carriers international flights during the Harvey shoutdown in Houston?

I think the flag decision was a tough one to make, but probably the right one. Six Flags over Texas hasn't been around that long and the corporate entity is just Six Flags. Not worth the trouble that is brewing to get some folks riledup and maybe lose business in other states.

Destroying or hiding monuments that have been around 80 to 120 years seems foolish. I am surprised that Fort Worth has so few confederate monuments. I think the 1953 tombstone at the courthouse is a little to late to the game and maybe should go. The S-T article about the mouments that have been erected in neighboring counties since 2000 was a surprise. I can't believe spending money on new monuments today could be justified.
