The view from the Kimball was concerning. The view from the Carter was not obstructed at all. I've heard Renovo is looking for another site in FW, glad that we haven't completely run them off.

Maybe they can build in Left Bank where that proposed hotel seems to be struggling to get off the ground.

Hotel Renovos first rendering with 12 stories would be awesome there IMHO.

If not there then maybe the Upper Westside

This is much needed in my opinion. It is the showcase thoroughfare and it needs to start looking more like it.

One thing I noticed on my last visit to the area a couple of weeks back... the street in between the coliseum and the stockyards indoor mall has a lot of potential as a outdoor pedestrian strip. It is completely underutilized in its current state. I dont recall if the new redevelopment plans call for any improvements.

I always thought the pier one building at 750ft would be an awesome building to have as a signature tower. Same design but just stretched and tapered in at the top.

At this point the project has to be completed at all costs. If not we will be the laughing stock of Texas and what is left will be a huge eyesore.

#108846 Project Sundance

Posted by rriojas71 on 09 February 2018 - 02:05 PM

So I heard through an anonymous source about Sundances plans for the parking lot east of the Tower & north of the newly purchased Petroleum Building.

Plans are for a massive parking structure (approx 15 levels) with a 15 story hotel on top & a 15 story office building on top of that. It may have 5 floors of residential units as well, but that option is still up in the air.

However, it is proposed to be the tallest building in Fort Worth and planned to have an iconic design including tue possibility of a spire on top or something resembling the top of the courthouse.

It could start as soon as next year or could be put on hold due to market factors.

Im wondering if that is why Sundance purchased the petroleum building and garage south of this lot?

#108771 The Worth Residences (24 floors)

Posted by rriojas71 on 07 February 2018 - 12:31 PM

I joined the newsletter on the website and this excerpt is from an email to me.

Thank you for your interest in our exciting project. We are in the mid-phase of schematic drawings and will rapidly progress into design drawings where the project really takes form. We are planning on 28 stories and approximately 120 homes.

The Worth will offer a range of services including a 24-hour door presence, professional management, and valet. Our building will feature resort-style amenities and will include a 5th level amenity deck with an owners lounge featuring a demonstration kitchen/bar, swimming pool, outdoor grilling stations, heated spa, fitness center, yoga deck and lush landscaping. The Riverview Lounge will be located on the top floor of The Worth and will be an intimate setting for entertaining with stunning views of the sunset and the Museum District.

I have really been looking foreard to this since it was announced. I have been hoping for something like this since I moved back 3 years ago.
I hope it stays popular... similar to St. Roch Market in New Orleans and the Ferry Building in SF

St. Roch Market is pretty awesome. I doubt itd have the same charm but it may still be successful.

Definitely nowhere near the charm of the other 2 places for sure... just thinking that maybe it will have some of the energy those places possess

Was at World of Beer yesterday and they were demolishing the small building east of Van Cliburn that was just west of great Outdoors.

Hopefully this is a good sign and not just clearing of the land.

I'm mostly baffled a parking lot took 18 months to construct.

I thought the same thing when I walked by this the other day. For a project that took so long I was extremely underwhelmed.

The architects have some new renderings online. Nothing too exciting though.

I thought this development was going to be apartments. The link says it is going to be a hotel

This story is why Fort Worth will possibly never reach it’s full potential as a thriving corporate and business centric city. I thought it had turned the corner but this in a nutshell is why we will probably never see that day.

That’s too bad. I liked that place.

I wish they would permanently close Main Street between 2nd & 3rd and then also close 3rd St. between Houston & Commerce. I think it would work better as a true pedestrian mall vibe. I just think 3rd Street is too busy with cars and pedestrians interacting continuously; especially on busy nights.
