In Topic: Tarleton State University plans 80-acre campus in Far SW FW

20 October 2017 - 03:22 PM

If you're ever headed toward Burleson or Cleburne, keep an eye out: There's a sign on the west (north?) side of the CTP that says "Future site of Tarleton State," plus some TSU banners on the streetlights.

Going south on CTP it will be on the right side of the road. noticed that about a week ago heading into Glen Rose.about where @Doohickie posted about.

It says CTP at Granbury Road.  I count at least three locations that fit that description.  Anyone know the actual location of the campus?

Edit:  Answering my own question; it appears that this is the spot.  It's where Old Granbury Road stops at the CTP and picks up on the other side.  Maybe the plan all along was that a new road built for the campus would span the Parkway, and Old Granbury will dump into that road on either side of the bridge.

thats where the sign is, or close to it. its not a very huge sign either, and unless you are a passenger, easily missed.

In Topic: Hemphill/Lamar/Taylor Connector project ?

10 October 2017 - 01:33 PM

Saw a crane on site by Vickery and Hemphill last night. didn't drive by today but looks like more dirt is there. not sure if this is related to the connector or part of the T&P project (doubtful but who knows).

In Topic: Elon Musk is teasing Texas again - Hyperloop

Hyperloop outlines 10 high-potential routes

The US was the country to feature most prominently on the winner's list, with four different routes

connecting a number of major cities. The longest comes from a team called Texas Triangle,

who put forward a proposal that could connect Houston, Austin, San Antonio,

Dallas and Laredo with 1,030 km (640 mi) of tube.

If Fort Worth is not apart of this, then I don't give a damn.

I agree.

In Topic: TEX Rail project

I would love to have better transit options. subways, better bus routes/times (thinking 24/7), better rail options. I would support developments that increased the options and/or improve existing plans. face it, our transit system sucks. we can continue letting it suck as is, and feeling the increase of vehicle traffic, and with that traffic accidents, OR, we can improve it, in turn give something to the developers to bring them in. if this goes through and it does happen to reach down Hemphill towards Seminary, more developers would want to come in and build in town. Id love to see Ft worth as something other than Dallas' little brother, and until we can get the transit system fixed, and developers coming in, we will never be a separate city.
