#104660 Gem on Samuels Ave. - The Garvey House

I wasn't aware that the restoration of the Garvey House included a big addition to the rear:

#104289 The View of Fort Worth at Northside & 35

Maybe I’m missing something, but I drive by there just about every day and I couldn’t imagine wanting to live at that location.

Sure, it’s a total mess at the moment with all the construction, but even so I don’t see anything good about it. Right against the highway, wrong side of the river (or 35W) for the trails, no amenities in the area at all.

There are a lot of more desirable places to live, either existing or under construction.

Jamie, you are right, the file seems to no longer be available in the original location.

I had saved a PDF in my Dropbox - you can get it here: http://djh.cc/2ueHmsC

#97753 What did you do in Fort Worth today?

Nothing exciting for me yesterday, work all day, usual walk downtown with my doggie in the evening. One phone photo to show for it.

Here's the "cut-out". I confess, I don't know who it is.

Shame it's abandoned - that's a beautiful building. It must be the Memphis version of the T&P Warehouse.

777 Main stands out really well with the new lighting. Not sure what happened to Burnett Plaza on this evening

I've had the chance to peek in the back of the Acre Distillery and see all the shiny new equipment (which looks very impressive).

Seems it is now open: http://www.fwtx.com/...virtue-and-vice

#95093 Butler Place redevelopment plan being studied

Butler Place reminds me of Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. That area is also cut off from the rest of the city by an Interstate highway and a river. There was never a solution found (even with some decking) and it is a chore to try and get over there.

I'll be sorry to see the water tower go - it is very much a feature of that part of Exchange Avenue, even though the neon sign currently attached to it is very tacky. Is the water tower original to the area or is a replica, attempting to provide a more old western vibe?

The stairway is really cool and I hope will remain a feature of the new development on the site. How long ago was the logo painted over? Other than that, the stairs seem to be in very good shape.

Swift ruins in Infrared. I'd love to get in there for a look around before demolition

There's been a lot of progress at the old steakhouse over the late summer and info the fall - the Acre Distilling signs are up now:

They have a Facebook page too: https://www.facebook...eacredistillery

It will be interesting to see how this works out.
