The Dallas development thread I started on HAIF (Houston Architecture) really took off and thanks to all the contributors is one of the most active threads on that site. Seems one on here might be a good idea to keep things organized. Instead of also having a Dallas Exurban thread for Plano, Frisco etc.. all together here might be just fine for simplicity. There's a lot of development going up. This thread is not intended to brag or gloat but to inform those in the Fort Worth area who are genuinely interested in what's going on over yonder. Feel free to add any Dallas area development news.😎

With all due respect. I simply go to the Dallas Forum. And often go to read up what is going on in Dallas. I mentioned not long ago I liked the old Dallas forum format better. But whatever. I notice a lot of Dallas postings from you. And that is fine. You can read up on my past postings and my sometimes complements of Dallas developments.  But I must say. I am a bit unnerved due to what we here had to deal with about 10 years ago. We had a very hardcore very extreme Anti Fort Worth hater here from Dallas. I would go far as to say he was militant in his anti views of Fort Worth. I hold nothing back about my love and allegiance for Fort Worth. Especially in a Fort Worth forum site. So you can see the conflict. But I welcome you and hope your time hear can be a positive and learning experience for me to learn about Dallas.

Thanks for replying NID. The old Dallas forum...are you talking about DFW metropolis? The new format is okay. Im not a member over there but I lurk.

Truthfully I believe HoustonArchitecture and this site have the best layout. I wish DFWmetropolis would do this format instead of the new one.

No I'm not a Fort Worth hater or anything like that. In fact I'm glad FW is getting some good towers now with the Frost and River towers. And more should be coming in the future.

I'm just trying to contribute to this site and I will invite others that I know to turn the wheels of this place a bit.

Welcome to the forum. We discuss Dallas projects from time to time, but I'm sure a lot of stuff gets missed. I'm looking forward to seeing what's happening to the east.

The AMLI link is a dead one, but there are several images in the thread you linked. That's a nice looking building. Very complimentary of Fountain Place.

Is it safe to return to the Dallas metropolis forum?

The last two times I tried to visit (two or three months apart a couple years ago), I was redirected to a virus & spam-filled website.

I am not a member of the DMF. But I saved the link to it. And visit the forum that way. And if the link is down? I let it go at that until its back up again. As of now it is ok.

JasonDTX I don't hold your view about Fort Worth getting many new towers I am sad to say. That has been a ongoing topic in various post here. I don't let my love for Fort Worth blind me of my dislikes of Fort Worth development. But that is for another time. I also am just a Luker at DFW metropolis. But I will check out the Houston/Arch site. I think I did visit that site many years ago ? But Welcome again. I look forward to your post and opinions about Dallas and other topics. :smwink:

That's going to be a great companion piece for fountain place. I remember reading somewhere that fountain place was supposed to have a twin when it was built. Guess it got a little brother instead.

Seems one on here might be a good idea to keep things organized. Instead of also having a Dallas Exurban thread for Plano, Frisco etc.. all together here might be just fine for simplicity. There's a lot of development going up. This thread is not intended to brag or gloat but to inform those in the Fort Worth area who are genuinely interested in what's going on over yonder.....

Just a precursory look inton HAIF suggests that "really took off" is an overly benign description of how it was received.  I'm not saying that I have read the comments of all the  "Dallas Development Thread" on the Houston site, but it did apparently evoke the administrator to remove some very heated comments and to issue a reminder to its members about city v city food fights.

http://www.houstonar...worthmetroplex/

Posting a "look at me", or "my grass is greener than your grass"  thread into another city's forum can be seen as invasive;  whether it is Houston or Fort Worth, it has the potential to become controversial. Fort Worth, by its nature, is feverishly given to boosterism because of its position. it is an elusive feeling that for a number of factors other cities can not match.  Amon Carter would surely agree.

As for the notion that Fort Worth is in complete darkness as to what is going on to its east is untrue.  If there is a need to be informed, one would be free to visited that or any other city's social forum site. What is true is what I believe is an indispensable need for Fort Worth to have a Forum, this Forum, so as to focus on topics that are of themselves about this City;  regardless of a need to know what is going on elsewhere. Unless and only unless, if what is going on elsewhere has a tangible and impactful bearing upon Fort Worth, then the need to know may be justifiable.

The reminder at the top of the DFW page on HAIF has nothing to do with any Dallas threads I started. It was there long before. There's a type of big brother vs little brother vibe between the 2 cities on that site. You won't see that on the Austin or SA pages. I find it hilarious.
Sure there are a lot of hostile Houstonians on there but that's part of the fun but there's also some of the coolest posters on the site. I also love the layout like this and enjoy learning about HTown developments.
I'm not looking to start any type of friction on here and will ignore anything flammable trying to do so.
Thanks for replying.

Several posts within this thread have been deleted.  I may have deleted too many of them, but I wanted to keep the discussion civil and I tried to delete all of the posts that had negative comments.

One comment was made about the jurisdiction of "Surrounding Cities".  Dallas and its environs are within our metropolitan area, but those parts to the east were deliberately left out of the list in order to discourage what happened on the board today.  Posts about Dallas are permitted, but there are other boards about specific other cities where you can post.  I want all of you to be on your best behavior over the next few days.

So do I.  Thanks Jasno. I'm in Dallas often and am blown away by the construction over there.  I can't keep count of the buildings going up, I'm so glad you  can.  Keep it up.

Surely you can keep count if you try really hard.

Almost any word that I can come up with would be inadequate to express how glad I am that you are so glad.

Dirt is moving on AMLI Fountain Place.
This will make an impact on the skyline at 562ft, a hair taller than Museum Tower. Glad to see the project started.

It will make a nice addition to the skyline, even though a part of me would have liked to see Fountain Place's twin.

It's interesting but Bank of America, Cityplace(my avatar) and Fountain Place were all supposed to have twins. I actually like the BOA and FP as singles. It lets them have their individuality but that's just my opinion. Cityplace though would have looked great as a set of twins bookcaseing 75-Central Expy.

I remember when all of those original renderings and models were shown with the twin towers of all three developments.  I do agree with you in that having BOA and FP as singles show their individuality.  The AMLI tower will set itself apart from FP, yet it will also look like it was planned with the development.  The Cityplace twin would have been pretty impressive.
