In the coming year, I'm going to try to focus more time in the core website.  A few years ago, I updated things much less frequently because I became burned out.  Last year, I started making more updates, which helped things.  I would like to get all of the existing pages converted to the new format and start adding more building listings to the neighborhoods.  I have a backlog of thousands of photographs, so hopefully, I can start making more updates.  I am going to try to do my best to go out and take more pictures of Fort Worth's architecture, so I can post them on the site.

I will still continue to cross promote the site on the Facebook page.  The forum runs itself, but I actually predict there will be lest posting because of the advances in social media.  I'm hoping that there will be continued posting by all of you on the forum to keep it as a viable part of the site.

In addition to being burned out a little on the website, my work responsibilities have changed somewhat.  I used to be out in the field about half of the time.  Now, I'm in the office all of the time.  Secondly, I used to do my office's website and photography.  Now, that is hired out to outside firms.  Over the last two years, I had many fewer opportunities to take photographs.

I sympathize - I know all about being burned out running a Fort Worth web site.  Happened to me twice.  Best of luck.

My big burnout occurred from 2008 through 2011, about the time the economy tanked.  To make up for the burnout on the website, I really put in a lot of miles on my bicycle and went on several bicycle tours.  Two of those years, I put between 5,000 and 6,000 miles on the bicycle.  Last year, I started getting interested again in working more on the site, and periodically, I made some major updates.  I still went out and took photographs, so I have a huge backlog of pictures that I haven't uploaded to the site.  However, if those buildings didn't have descriptions, I have a lot of written material to produce.

I have been editing and/or adding about two building descriptions every day since I got the site back up and running.  Over the last week, St. Stephen Presbyterian Church, Fisher More College (Formerly Our Lady of Victory), Cook Children's Medical Center, and Green B. Trimble Technical High School have been revised.  The Art Station and The Lancaster building descriptions have been added to the site.  Most of these listings include new photographs.

Was that last picture taken on the first evening after opening?

Sorry for the late reply.  The last picture of the umbrellas was taken on the first night the plaza was open, Friday, November 1st.

I'm thinking that might have been a picture of me, as I was wearing a red shirt that day. That make three people who got pictures of me that I didn't meet.

Hoping to go back either tomorrow or the next day if anyone else is going to be there.

On Friday, my phone service went out at the house, including internet.  Therefore, my postings have been shorter and infrequent.  I contacted the phone company, and I tried to clear the lines by unplugging everything connected to a phone line.  That didn't work.  They are coming to the house on Monday to check the exterior for problems.  If that doesn't work, then I will need to set up an appointment for them to come inside to check everything out.

Update:  The phone company did not come on Monday or Tuesday, but they finally came out today.  It was a switch on the line, somewhere down the street.  It's nice to have a land line again and access to the internet.

I walked around TCU twice today.  This means I will have more new photos and building descriptions to post on the website.

I never accomplish everything I plan.  The year is coming to a close and I haven't worked on the site as much as I would have liked.  I'm taking some time off from work this week, but the weather has turned out cloudy, so I haven't been taking many photographs.  This time off was my boss' choosing, due to a couple of projects being put on hold.  On Saturday, after the Bicycles Inc. Century of the Month ride, I had planned to go out and take pictures, but I finished up feeling like I was coming down with a bad cold, and I had chills.  The afternoon was beautiful, but I went to bed and slept a lot of the day.  By Sunday, I was feeling much better, so I'm guessing I needed the rest.

I still wish I had more time to work on this site, both to take more photographs and to update the building descriptions.  I'm thankful that I have a job, but over the years, it has become more demanding and challenging.  I get out of the office much less than I used to, and I'm required to be there during regular office hours, unless I'm out for business.  In early 2012, our firm hired a website development company and a professional photographer, so I no longer manage my office's website, and I also no longer take photographs of our buildings for the office.  Therefore, opportunities for photography lessened.  Our move to the end of Camp Bowie Boulevard also made taking pictures in the center of the city more difficult to accomplish in a lunch hour.

Next year, I will see if I can make more time to devote to updating the site.

This week, I've asked for suggestions on Fortwortharchicture.com's Facebook page for site updates.  The people who like the site, have suggested North Hi Mount Elementary for an update.  The only thing that I could do was to take a new picture. I did that over the weekend and uploaded it to the site.  The next one, was a new listing that Austin55 suggested.  It was the Oxsheer House at the southeast corner of Pennsylvania and Henderson.  I had taken a photograph of the house in August, so I uploaded the photo and wrote a new building description.
