I recently moved to Burleson, does anyone know of any development going on down here? The only dirt I see being turned over is a new (relocation) Braum's. Any future plans being talked about out there?

I thought people moved to Burleson, etc. to get away from development.

Development brings rules (like no trash burning).

Sam's club will be located at 35W and SH174 next to the Honda dealership, Chicken E will be in the new business park on 35W close to FM 917, and the new Burger King will be close to the intersection of SH 174 and Crowley road. Also getting a Toyota dealership at 35W and Hidden Creek. Burleson has been getting alot of development due to the fact that most people want convenience, if a city can bring all the essential stores to its town, then the money people spend will stay in that towns economy.

You want to burn your trash?  Why?

Because you can!

I didn't say I wanted to, haha.  But, that's always been one of the stereotypical reasons to be out of the city. (fireworks, too).

I don't know if you have been here recently but Burleson isn't some little country town anymore. If you want a little town then Alvarado is the next option, Burleson is growing like a weed with future development and they have begun to start planning for better infrastructure in anticipation of the new tollroad and the eventual expansion south of the passenger train.

So, is that what the majority of Burleson wants?  Or, are they moving to Alvaredo?

Burleson is now the largest town in Johnson County.  Up until the 2010 Census, Cleburne was the largest town in the county.  The 2010 population of Burleson was 36,690.

Maybe Burleson needs an Urban Village, call it SoFo, South of FW.  It can draw all of the chain places from the sprawling "Burleson Town Center" into a cuter, newer urban-y development with the buildings up to the sidewalks.

^ Have you ever been to Burleson's little downtown area? It's quite nice, and seems to be growing, I know one resruant just opened a balcony on the second floor and there's a whole new restaurant at Bufford & Main). Babe's is the main attraction. There's a few nice historic facades and a lot of more recent artwork and murals. The old NT Traction company station is right around the corner and I want to say there's even a car there now to. A little more development would really help it out. It's also set right on railroad tracks, maybe one day a line could be built down there...

Develop  few of those rotting agriculture lots and parking lots, maybe a little park and a stage, would be a real nice area.

There's another new area just up main right here, but it's not quite as active as the historic downtown.

I often host a Fort Worth Bicycling Association ride that starts on Commerce Street, right across from Babe's, so I'm very familiar with the town.

Found out today that started June 1st, the HEB grocery store here in Burleson will begin major construction, it will become an HEBPlus!, it will be like a walmart super center with a clothes department/electronics/etc. they should be done around December of this year. Also Burleson will be getting a Neighborhood Market Walmart and Bahamas Bucks.

Kroger recently announced a Marketplace store to be built at the southeast corner of TX 174 and FM 731.  Also, the Sam's Club opened this week, but that meant the closing of the Sam's at Campus and I-20 in southeast Fort Worth.

That Sam's location, the one on Cherry Lane, and the one in Richland Hills were probably their original locations in Tarrant County if I'm not mistaken.

Things are starting to move on the west side of Burleson adjacent to the Chisholm Trail Parkway.  Below is a link to an article in the Business Press.

Schlotsky's, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins and Advanced Auto Parts are scheduled to open in the coming months on HWY 174. Raising Cane's is looking at a potential restaurant here and Harley Davidson will open up a store on HWY 35W & Renfro. Also Airforce Airgunes will open up a distribution plant here. Burleson is also getting ready to "spruce" up Old Town area with better lighting, benches and side walks along with better signage for parking as some really great Local eateries have opened up downtown.

I'm glad to see more economic development in Burleson.  And the art drawing, published in the FWBP article below, shows the proposed facility will be an attractive addition to this satellite community of Fort Worth.

Another wholesale food manufacturing company is setting up shop in Burleson. This one is a $70 million facility and 150+ jobs. https://www.bizjourn...ew-70m-hub.html
