Went to Seattle this past weekend (03/08 - 03/10) for the sole purpose of drinking coffee and taking photographs.  I need to do a lot of editing, but here is the first photo that I've downloaded.  I found this spot in the day and hiked back down there later in the day to catch the sunset.

At quick glance it looks like a new angle of Montgomery Ward and Pier 1.

Really nice pics.  Seattle is high on the list of places I would like to visit.

JBB, it is really an interesting city.  Some of the positives are that there are multiple lookout points, both on surrounding hills and in buildings.  I wish one of the balconies on the DR Horton building were opened up for the public to take in the views, so you don't have to own a condo to get them.  Also, they have some really cool architecture.  Some of the drawbacks are that the city is way dirtier than Fort Worth and they have a lot of street people, which can be a bit scary depending on the time you are out walking around.

Dave, your caption popped up before the photograph, and I knew by the caption exactly what the photograph was going to depict.  The Elephant Car Wash is a very interesting neon sign.

The elephant car wash is where I had one of my most interesting experiences of the trip.  I was walking into the city, past the car wash, and a guy smoking weed asked me for money and pretty much kept pestering me to go into the Shell station across the street and get $10 for him out of the ATM.  I was carrying my old school Bogen tripod that weighs about 30 pounds and was ready to swing it if the dude didn't leave me alone.  Luckily, I got on with my day.  But, I'll always remember that car wash, for sure.

Apparently, the Paramount Theater is so popular that you can find people sleeping at the front doors...probably to be the first ones in the building when it opens.

Thanks for these pics.  Never been to Seattle but have heard it's extraordinary.  Really love the "EMP" pic and composition.  Don't know what "EMP" is, though. A Gehry?

Yep; it was kind of like an interactive museum.  The link that RD posted shows all of the exhibits.  They currently have a bunch of Jimi Hendrix memorabilia, a bunch of Nirvana stuff, a black leather jacket exhibit, some interactive instruments that you can play, a sci-fi exhibit and a horror movie exhibit.

This is part of the leather jacket exhibit:

Seattle has a really impressive collection of old buildings in Pioneer Square.  Here is one of them:
